best team in the world currently?

All the teams on the shortlist top their respective leagues and are through to the KO stages of the CL.

Are they all still in their domestic cups?

I'd say City overall but in a one off game I'd fancy Atletico to beat anyone if they had to. Loath them.

But PSG aren't even winning their league with teams that are hardly good sides. The question says "currently" and PSG, for me, aren't better than AC Milan currently.

If we were going off past achievements like you say with PSG last season then there would be a host of other teams we could throw into the mix.

I think "currently" should cover at least 6 months to a season, cause any team can have a purple patch.

I've based my opinion off this season so far and I'd say AC Milan have had a better season than what PSG have had. I can't say PSG were too impressive in the CL either despite winning their group, then again, you could sing from the same song-sheet about Milan as well.

I just feel like PSG have underperformed somewhat from their usual standards domestically whereas AC Milan are having a fine season and they've both done ok, but not spectacularly, in Europe.

I rate PSG above Milan right now. Milan are the new kids on the block who haven't proved anything yet. That's why judging over a season or so is better because that encompasses the various European and cup competitions.

Even City can't be seen as the best team right now because we don't know how far they'll get in Europe yet or how much they'll win. They haven't even been great for more than 3 months, and last season they were way off the pace.

Yeah I know what you mean, a better judgement would be at the end of the season because then you can evaluate who did what in what competition.

At this stage of the season now, I'd personally say AC Milan are having a better season than PSG, so are currently better.

A bit of an unpopular opinion but PSG haven't really proven a great deal when you look at the context of their CL run. The only top side they faced was in the final, which they lost. I know it's a bit of a duff argument as you can say Lyon beat City so you do still have to beat what is in front of you, but I would like to see them beat the elite at some point as they usually struggle against the best (Barca, Bayern etc).

It's same way you wouldn't rate, let's say, DCL the best striker in the league now. Needs more time to prove himself.

Neither PSG or Milan are the best teams. The best team at the moment is Bayern. That's the only answer that counts as far as I'm concerned. PSG maybe top 5 if we're talking currently as in like the last year or so.

I'm assuming world football is not at an all time low anymore then.
