You can't expect social media platforms to enforce your suggestions. Everyone would just leave or use fake profiles. You'd completely undo what you're trying to achieve.
You really shouldn't have to have things like awareness and its effect on people's attitudes explained to you.
Similarly, you shouldn't assume that what you see is the truth. Have you seen all the people not getting abused? Did you see the players celebrate in front of the Millwall fans on one knee with their fists raised? That made headlines. Black players making the point that they won't stand back and ignore racism from the stands.
Education isn't the only way. Just like protesting isn't the only way. Or legislating. Or raising the issue with people you know. They all, bit by bit, bring about change.

Social media is a small change? Couldn't disagree more with you there.

Compared to institutional racism, yes it absolutely is. What was is, the top 3 jobs in each of the top 100 companies in UK have no black peoples employed in them? That’s a much bigger problem than some mouthy ignoramus on Twitter. Putting some level of controls in place may well help to brush the ingrained racism Under the carpet, or to the darker corner of the web, but it’s not going to change attitudes on its own.
“.I agree that attitudes need to change in order to wipe out racism but how does bending the knee change attitudes? Please explain it to me. Is that alone going to cure the sickness of racism and discrimination?”

Taking a knee (bending a knee is a submissive phrase from GOT that’s been pushed by the racists who want to feel they are being discriminated against at) absolutely 100 % has made a difference. Whether you agree with the action or not, it’s had an effect of enabling conversations, pushing us to ask questions and reflect.
I’ve already stated that that on its own is not the solution. There seems to be a narrative now that because taking a knee is not solving all racism, that the act has no value. Thats nonsense. Granted the power of seeing everyone e kneel may not be as immediate or stark as before, but you can’t say there’s no merit to raising awareness.
Kneeling has absolutely had the desired effect. Conversation, awareness, togetherness, education, action.

Zapologies for jumping on a soap box this time on a Friday. If anyone wants to gain a quick perspective on the scars and legacy of racism in America, I’d recommend the movie “The 13th.”

I'm going to go ahead and say that if something infuriates racists it's probably worth doing.

so...footballers taking the knee infuriates racists...I aint buying it, - sorry
Sanctioning people on social media...now that'd be worth doing...

It initially had the desired effect by getting people talking about it but all its doing now it seems is stiring up more abuse.
Our players are being abused more now than they were before. Tuanzebe, Martial, Rashford and a few others no doubt all been targeted in recent weeks.
Taking action shouldnt lead to more abuse but it seemingly has.
Social media accounts should be made transparent. No option to put a fake profile on. Should be verified with passport picture and full name. That would go a hell of a long way to combat part of the issue.
As for beating racism in other parts of society. Not sure how you ever beat it. Education obviously the only way but as we all know there's always people who ignore this and choose to target certain sections of society.

Brentford are also not taking the knee apparently because of Ivan Toney.
Coventry did and they didn't ... Interesting

They stated in the week that they were no longer going to do it... The whole thing just seems ridiculous really doesn't it

First of all, I'm not sure where you establish the causal effect? Is the kneeling making racists act more racist? Is it making previously non-racist people turn racist? Or is there actually no way of establishing this?
Secondly, I have a bit of a problem with any argue that has a suggestion of 'we'd better not do this, because it could upset racists'. Not standing up for racial equality because racists are quieter when they black people don't protest about racism doesn't look to me like a long term recipe for reducing racism. It looks like appeasement.
(And as BalesLeftFoot says, no one thinks that kneeling alone is the way forward. I advocate using every available weapon.)

It's seen as that important there have been instances lately where teams/players have kicked off and forgot to do it...so go figure

The quicker the EPL disassociates themselves from the BLM (organisation) movement the better, we got into something that we really didn't know anything about. They are not for racial equality, they are a political movement trying to usher in their Marxist agenda.
$10 billion they raised and how much went back to the black community?
The anti racist movement is just a big money making scam, and is inherently racist in itself. Most in the UK haven't got a clue what this movement is really about, Our racial issues are very much different to those in the US, we shouldn't be following them.
