P O T !

I mean legalisation of POT.
It's got to come hasn't it, It's legal in Canada ,California and quite a few other states in the USA,and quite a few other places as well, and now it has been legalised in New York, which is huge for the pot industry.

So when is it to be legalised for recreational use, in Britain ?

Our gov is so hypocritical that we (UK) are one of, if not, the biggest exporters of it to the world, numbers up!

Status quo since 1840. Nothing's changed!
Just ask any Chinese person.

Our gov is so hypocritical that we (UK) are one of, if not, the biggest exporters of it to the world, (which i believe Teresa Mays husbund's is involved in) but to legalise..hell no, they need to keep them prison numbers up!

I doubt that cannabis consumption or selling cannabis is the reason for many people currently locked up.

I'm fully aware of that, it was a bit of tongue in cheek..

Beat me to it

Love to go to a football match full of stoners. Delayed reaction cheers & half the stadium queuing up at the burger van/ignoring the match. This is a happier society to live in

Imagine if England legalised it and it went the same way as alcohol consumption in the country. While much of the world has a mild spliff on the odd occasion, engaging in a pleasant social high. The English would be ripping multiple bongs, puking, whiteying, falling asleep everywhere and destroying their brains.

Moderation has never been our strong suit

New Mexico is approved and being passed as we speak. New York yesterday. Portugal, Spain, America and lots of countries have systems that put ours to shame.

Portugal is interesting as they actually legalised all drugs, and their police chief went bananas, only to state later he got it wrong. Crime plummeted.

You can get a legal can card thing in the UK now as long as you have a qualifying condition and have tried to types of medication. You then pay 80-90 for a refferal and boom...you can legally posses devil's lettuce. And u can buy bits of the government but some of it is total a55.

It's inevitable when it does happen loads of business with no expertise will monopolise the market :'(

"Portugal is interesting as they actually legalised all drugs,"

It's a bit of a misunderstood policy, apologies if I also don't have it quite right. From my understanding they decriminalized the recreational use of drugs. It doesn't mean you can buy drugs there and in fact punishments are still severe for drug dealers.

The difference in their approach and why it's a good one is they're treating drug use, trying to help users, providing safe spaces and help getting treatment for addiction rather than putting them in jail.

The UK would do well to take an approach more like that.

That's correct for hard drugs but not sure if it's the same for weed. I know heroin users etc have to attend hospital at like 7am for their supervised fix where they can have as much as they choose, within reason. They also aid them by getting jobs etc.

I'm not sure if it's the same tollerance for dealing weed but it'd certainly prove the system is more efficient than the uks current one, on a number of levels. It'd also allow self cultivation instead of forcing people to medicate with inferior gov grown strains.

Few are going to invest in high cost, high tech set ups with the law as it currently stands, although some on these shores certainly do a stellar job.

You're right though the system is something we should look to for inspiration.
