Surgery today for a brain tumour. Whilst benign clearly a serious op.
Will be out of action for a while.
On behalf of all on Ja606 who have relied on Phil at the Yorkshire Post, and now at The Athletic, being a ‘goto’ resource to clarify many a rumour, we wish him a speedy recovery.
On behalf of those who don’t see Phil in quite so positive a light, I know they also send best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Fantastic writer and broadcaster. The Phil Hay show is my essential weekly pick-me-up on all things LUFC. His writing for The Athletic is outstanding and his output since leaving the YP has been immense. He is a fine researcher and commentator and I wish him and his family a successful battle against this illness..
