Changes in the Boardroom

Leeds United has today revealed changes to its Board of Directors as the club looks ahead to a bright future.

The first new face on the board is Australian Peter Lowy. Peter is currently the Principle of the Lowy Family Group private investment business and was formerly the CEO of the hugely successful Westfield Group. Lowy is a lifelong Leeds United supporter who brings over 30 years of business experience with him.

Peter is joined by Aser Ventures Chief Executive Officer Massimo Marinelli who has played a pivotal role in generating investment into the club during Andrea’s ownership, including the increased involvement of the 49 Enterprises earlier this year.

Finally, former Fiorentina CEO Sandro Mencucci will take a place on the new-look board having spent 17 years at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Massimo, Sandro and Peter join Leeds United Chairman Andrea Radrizzani, Vice Chairman Paraag Marathe and CEO Angus Kinnear, to complete the Board of Directors.

Andre Tegner departs, having joined as a Director alongside Andrea in January 2017. He has been a well-respected advisor to Andrea and he leaves with the thanks and well wishes of everyone at Leeds United.

I thought there was a perma-ban on anyone called Massimo sitting on the board?

I saw that and thought there's a lot off Massimo's on the board!..

Hopefully no jinx heading our way!..

Needs to change his name to Maximo ( or Russell) - Are you not entertained?

Heart skipped a beat when I saw Massimo... I’ll not tell a lie!

Be interesting to see what the purpose/role of Peter Lowy & Sandro Mencucci will be.

Is Lowy there for expertise or will he be investing?

What will Mencucci bring along with his experience?

I wouldn't expect to receive many answers to these questions because it's not really the business is done. But hopefully we will see a positive effect on the club regardless.

Wasn't it Westfield who were going to redevelop Bradford City centre, knocked it down and left it as rubble for about 10 years?
