So I thought us lot could, only one shout each.
Pat Nevin for me.
One because he knows what he talking about.
Two because he isn't Robbie Savage
The Beeb are talking about good pundits

Alan Green was my favourite commentator. Couldn't name them but there are some good commentators around at the moment on BT Sport.
Can't stand Martin Tyler.
For pundits, Neville is the best for me but I do quite like McManaman...

Couldn’t stand Green. Used to listen to the football at work and I’d be shouting at the radio for him to actually comment on the game instead prat waffling on. It’d be like “waffle waffle waffle waffle waffle waffle Ooh that was poor from Giggs, waffle waffle waffle waffle.........”

Alan Green was the biggest LFC propaganda machine around.

I think wright and richards appeal to the majority as they were relatable and "lads" Wright stated he regretted playing the character for BBC etc at world cups and thinks he could have been taken more seriously but you need a mix don't you? You can't have serious bangers like keane and souness or people shouting scabs at utd players.
I note however none of our fabulous new female pundits are even mentioned.

Building on what Rosso and others have said about the paucity of punditry these days, I think you need to look beyond the mainstream broadcasters for really insightful content. Sky, BBC, etc. know their market, and unfortunately are probably right in concluding that too much analysis and education would lose audience.
I've been struck by the quality of the discussion in the world of football podcasts (which as some of you know I only discovered recently). moreinjuredthanowen mentioned Ian Wright above, and he comes across as a really thoughtful and intelligent character on the Ringer podcast, in great contrast to the persona we saw on the BBC. Musa Okwonga and Ryan Hunn are excellent broadcasters on the same platform.
In the current media market it seems like high quality information is a niche product, and you have to go and look for it.

My main problem is with some of the co-commentators.
Don't the broadcasters listen to the way some of them talk.
Bad grammar, annoying voices and stating the bleeding obvious.
My particular hates are Hendry, sounds like he is having heart failure and trouble breathing and that women on BT who speaks through her nose.

My favorite co-commentators are Keown, MacManaman (although he has poor grammar) and Alan Smith.

You lot may scoff at this but some of the punditry we have on S4C is good. They offer more insight than a lot of the Sky/BT lot and, for Wales, they have to offer insight in players from Real Madrid to Newport!

Agree with this. The issue with a lot of punditry is they don’t have the time to go into detail, that and they have to play to the lowest common denominator in terms of the audience.
I do get annoyed at sky as they do have the time and could do more specialised output, they just don’t have the personnel capable of it though.
