Eriksen Had Cardiac Arrest Confirmed.

Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest and “was gone" before being swiftly resuscitated on the pitch, Denmark’s team doctor, Morten Boesen, has said.

“He was gone," Boesen said. “We started the resuscitation and we managed to do it. How close were we to losing him? I don’t know, but we got him back after one defib [defibrillation], so that’s quite fast."

On my fist aid course they stated, 7% chance with CPR 70% chance with defib, that's how important they are.

Yeah that’s along the lines of what I’ve heard. I’m surprised they aren’t more widely available. You are starting to see more of them popping up available for public but nowhere as much as I’d like to see.

It’s worth people doing research to find out where their nearest one is though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I've seen some in a local town but they are locked for security reasons and require pass codes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
On the one hand I can understand why, but on the other hand the time delay to get this and use it could literally be the difference between life and death.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They usually have a code and you can phone to immediately get the code. In a sense it’s less than ideal, but without that you just know they’d go missing.

They have to be locked up because people have been stealing them.

Surely if you're THAT worried, you can buy a portable Defib that fits in a back pack and carry it around with you?

Apparently he’s looking at going back to training immediately, the Doctors can’t find any explanation for why it happened.

I mean that definitely won't be happening. But hopefully it's on the less severe side. Maybe it'll be similar to Daley Blind and he'll be able to continue playing.

Blind had a diagnosis though, the Doctors can’t find a reason for Eriksen.

Though if Eriksen wants to keep playing he will have to leave Italy due to their laws.

Yeah but ultimately he had a cardiac arrest, if they're unable to find the root cause they won't just say "oh well, crack on and keep your fingers crossed". If anything I'd have thought it's less likely that he'll be able to return without a diagnosis?

I'd be surprised if any club would insure him to play, he won't play in Italy, Spain, France or the UK that's for sure.

Probably see him go back to Ajax
