Transgender Weightlifting

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-57549653

What say you, folks? Think this is good for inclusion or bad for the integrity of women's sport and unfair on female athletes?

To settle any arguments they should have 3 events!..

Mens title!..

Womens title!..

And transgender title!..

It is unfair for sports governors to allow people to enter a competition knowing they have an advantage giving them a greater chance off winning, if my Daughter was a Weightlifter and entered I'd be advising her to drop out, something that'd if enough did would bring the Olympics to a standstill!..

Unfair and dangerous for the sport!..

Stop pretending you give a fvck about womens weight lifting you utter quim.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s not that we care about women’s weight lifting. Many on here will have daughter's and can are looking at it through the lense of a parent whose child has been disadvantaged by this unfair situation.

This person has found a way to prolong their previously mediocre career in the sport and a young women has had her dream of competing at the olympics taken from her.

Laurel has done nothing for the image of middle aged white men.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone on here showing concern has a daughter who is going to lose to this woman in the Tokyo Olympics?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The rest of your comment as stupid as this bit, or is it worth reading on?

Interesting you would pick up on that

'It doesn't directly affect you' is a dubious method of shutting down a debate at any time, but on a sports forum? Facking ridiculous.

My favourite part of the whole Hubbard story is the 2019 Pacific Games.
Hubbard, a white New Zealander and son of a millionaire business owner and politician won gold in the snatch category.
The woman who won silver was an indigenous Samoan teenager who came from an impoverished background and started weightlifting whilst in a refuge having escaped from physical and sexual abuse.

Imagine just 10 years ago saying that "progressives" would back the white wealthy middle-aged ruling class male over the female indigenous teenage sexual abuse survivor. Nobody would believe you.

It's one of those situations which has just cemented my idea that the majority of humans aren't even sentient. You have to be so inconceivably dumb to believe that this is fair that you'd probably attack your own reflection.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah agree, I saw a debate on this on the box this morning and it just blows your mind that is considered fair
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed.

Am a feminist noo

That's quite the statistical anomaly

Rather, I imagine a lot of transphobes see this as a chance to have a pop, an excuse to call someone has transitioned to being a woman, a man.

The rules are wrong, plain and simple, if you have experienced male puberty, you should not be allowed to compete in female sports.

But that doesn't excuse a disgusting lack of compassion and downright cruelty in some people's descriptions here. Some people will take any excuse
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your few sentences are as ridiculous as me saying that men pushing the inclusion of Laurel Hubbard are misogynists. It’s clearly about sporting integrity, regardless of event, which is what most people commenting seem to care about. Plus many may well be feminists (or at least for this topic), and feel it’s totally wrong, regressive and exclusive that a biological woman has had her Olympic dream shattered at the expense of a biological man.

I agree, the rules are stupid, I have said so many times on this thread.

I'm criticising the fact that people are being intolerant arseholes and insulting the woman involved who has followed the rules.

The rules should be that anyone who has experienced male puberty should not be allowed to compete in female sports, which would ensure a fair playing field.

I disagree that many are being feminist, because they are posting transphobic statements, the handful of critical people who can remain respectful, which actually includes myself, could be sheltered by your feminist comments, others cannot.

It's feckin genius to be honest. I literally don't care about anything now, it's very refreshing.
