I think it's bad for the integrity of the sport and unfair on female athletes.
We should boycott womens weightlifting and cancel all subscriptions.
It’s complicated. The transwoman herself hasn’t done anything wrong, she’s taking the testosterone suppressors she’s meant to and kept it under the required level with what sounds like fairly intrusive (but understandable in the circumstances) monitoring.
However, it is undeniable that she has gone through male puberty, with the impact that has on bone structure and density and on muscle density. AFAIK there exist no practical medical interventions that would be able to mitigate the advantages this provides her over female competitors who have been through female puberty.
I do hope that once she’s at the olympics the focus is on how well she competes in the event and not on the wider topic of trans women in elite female sport, of which she just happens to be the first one into it.

It'll end up like the paralympics with different classifications depending how trans you are.
Pretty much all the things I read is that the change is pretty brutal, your testosterone levels and muscle density all drop, you have to wait a large amount of time before you can compete and then your testosterone cannot rise above a certain level.
So a non-issue basically.

Hold on a second, HE lived as a bloke for 30+ years, then realises he's never going to win a medal competing against real men, so decides to identify as a female and compete against women because he knows how sensitive some people are with trans issues these days and he can take full advantage, guy needs a gold medal just for that plan.

It's a huge issue for many female athletes competing in the sport. Go have a read.
If people want gender equality in sport then we should just get rid of categorising by gender altogether.
Women want equal pay to the men's game? Fine we'll have mixed teams for those of you who "are good enough to play professional men's football". I'm sure every Premier League club will be fighting to sign the newly available world class talent.
Annoyed that you're a transgender woman and you can't compete with other women in weightlifting? Don't worry, now all women will compete with men in categories based on solely on age or bodyweight and not gender.
Skimpy leotards are so sexualising in gymnastics. True, and just wait until the men starting wearing them.
Gender inequality exists in sport because it exists in biology.

I do hope that once she’s at the olympics the focus is on how well she competes in the event and not on the wider topic of trans women in elite female sport, of which she just happens to be the first one into it.
