The only thing which hasn't really been mentioned is the £3.65 million in solidarity payments to City and Watford which United will pay which takes the total cost of the deal up to around €89 million for United.

Surely just means they'd have rather kept him than have the money.

i read it as "we are sad that the player is leaving, rather than happy that we have received some cash"

but if they were a bit peeved about the fee, well that would be some nice...erm, what's the german for "taking pleasure in someone else's misfortune"?
