Not those stats
Tackles + Interceptions per 90
Van Dijk 19/20 - 1.43
Dier 19/20 - 2.08
Literally useless stats
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Read closely, success rate is key. Not the amount
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No it's not because it's totally abstract - it doesn't tell you anything about those situations.
I'm telling you it's useless information, nobody who knows what they're talking about would advocate using pass accuracy and interceptions per 90 to compare CBs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's your choice..I'm telling many permier league teams use it for scouting. So I'm sure you have your ideas for your team...whoever you scout for?

These stats are meaningless.
Apparently he was serie A defender of the year last season though. That's why I'm excited about the prospect of him joining.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The one thing that I like about Romero is that he is a front foot defender and tries to breakdown the attack before it builds up.....again the stats back this up.
However, I believe he will be a liability in a back 4. If he miss times his Interceptions. Attackers in prem are faster than Italian ones. So he won't be above to recover leaving the other Centre back extremely exposed. However in a back 3 these gambles are not as costly.

Back 3 of Romero, Rodon and Tanganga I would be happy with

Is Levy still trying to get Romero.......or has he been turned down?

Apparently the talks have all stalled now. Which sounds like a polite way of saying the deal is not going to happen.
Who would have thought.

Tottenham Hotspur have had a £43m bid for Cristian Romero accepted by Atalanta, according to reports.
Just yesterday, it was claimed that talks had broken down between the two clubs but talkSPORT have now revealed that the deal is back on for the Argentine, who was named Serie A’s best defender last season.
Tottenham are eyeing a replacement for Toby Alderweireld, who joined Al-Duhail earlier this week, and Romero, fresh from victory at the Copa America this summer, is their primary target.
The 23-year-old made 31 league appearances for Atalanta last season as they finished third and qualified for the Champions League.
On the Spurs rumours, Nerazzurri boss Gian Piero Gasperini said recently: “I haven’t actually seen Romero yet, as he’ll be back on Monday.
“We’ll see what his position is, then of course there is a negotiation in progress between the two clubs. We’ll see what the evaluations will be if he does leave.”

Reports in Argentina insist Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal worth €50m plus €5m in bonuses for Atalanta defender Cristian Romero.
According to TyCSports and TNT Sports, the two clubs have now settled on the transfer fee and are in ‘total agreement.’
It comes after Sportitalia reported Spurs were raising their bid to €50m.
The Argentine sites claim there’s another €5m in bonuses on there, which will take the total close enough to the €60m asking price.
Romero has already given the all-clear to join the Premier League side and will now work out personal terms.
‘Cuti’ is still on vacation and won’t join up with the Atalanta squad for training until Monday, as he was part of the Argentina team that won the Copa America.
His contract with Spurs is expected to run until June 2026.
Barcelona had also been interested, but could not compete financially with Tottenham at this moment in time, trying to negotiate a loan with option to buy.
Atalanta signed Romero from Juventus, on a two-year loan at €2m with €16m option to buy.
Naturally, they can activate that early and then sell him for a massive profit, tripling their money.
Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini insisted today that there was no truth in reports they would need to bring in a replacement, as they already secured Matteo Lovato from Hellas Verona.
