It seems some have forgotten the first how ever many games we played without our full first team defender's playing all together, it was a lot of games and it could be argued we would have had a few more points had they been fit for the whole season!..
We would have finished higher!..
So, looking at this season and thinking about last, if they stay fit and continue the way they did the last however many games, we should do as good or even better than last season!..
The second part of last season showed what we can, we saw glimpses in the first but it all came together when the defence came together!..
Shame Jonny didn't put top 8 to 4, so I'll go the next best with 5 to 7!..

Maybe Bielsa is showing us that good coaching - excellent coaching - trumps splashing the cash?
I don't know. If Paddy gets crocked, we have Rodrigo who was finally looking sharp at the end of last season. We also have Greenwood pushing from the U23s. I still think we've yet to see the best of Bamford.
We were unstoppable during that last run in. If it ain't broke...

Not saying Sam cannot step into Bamford's shoes but that isn't the role he has been playing for the U23's.
Interesting that you wouldn't anticipate Roberts stepping up.

Very true, Elsbels - he doesn't seem to fit the No9 bill like Paddy or Rodrigo.
No, I don't see Roberts making it this year. Can't see why Bielsa should keep such faith in either him or Costa, to be honest, but he knows far better than me for sure.
Can't wait for the Man U game! - I see the Grinning Wood-Elf has already been making preemptive excuses...

Read this post last night and thought I would mull it over but have come to the conclusion that I'm no further forward in formulating an opinion.
Going to sit on the fence and go 3 stars. If we avoid any relegation fight I'll be reasonably happy as years away down amongst the dead men has made me appreciate the need to just stay in this league and consolidate and then maybe when life is back to near normal and the revenues are looking really healthy we can invest much more heavily.
Yes just solid steps on solid ground for me not anything built on sand.

Nightmare: 14th
Expected - 12th to 6th
Dream - 4th
MY FINAL PREDICTION:
Last Season - 8th
This Season - 7th
Sheffield Und are a sobering reminder of what can go wrong when put simply, things just don’t go right. You looked at them last season and asked yourself how in earth they had finished 9th the previous season and could have dinshed even higher without the awful run in they had.
My biggest concern is a convergence of poor form with the simultaneous injuries of 2 or 3 key first choice players. With his preference for small squads and few changes, it’s always a higher risk, even with Beilsa’s ability to improvise.

Below 14th - Let’s not go there!!

2 for now (12-16). But being pessimistic early so
I can enjoy being wrong more. MB is football genius.
Can't wait for this season to get going.
On the player front, I really hope we see Greenwood,
Gelhardt, Summerville, and Drameh in first team this
season. Would expect Bate to get a look in also.
And a few others.
