I thought ESR was clearly our best attacking player in the rain, but our whole team struggled to find any slick passing in those conditions and Brighton outfought us in large parts of the game. The defence was pretty solid and Brighton had few chances.

Do you think we missed Xhaka ?

No. We've put in performances just like that with Xhaka in the team. With him often giving a goal.

This is all on Arteta sitting deep.

It's still much too early to judge this side with all the new faces we have to bed in.

It's only been 7 games.

Oh come on, how many years have you and the likes of Alan Smith been using that "young, developing team" excuse.
Take Chelsea as a comparison. They must have tuned over their squad ( and managers ) 3/4 times in the same period you lot have been "developing" and look where they are.
Definitely not a Chelsea fan, but the all teams churn over their squads, just Arsenal seem to be the only team who, 5 years or 10 years on, are still able to use it as an excuse to justify where they are in the PL.

Brighton also had 21 shots but only 2 on target

Brighton did everything spurs didn’t do last week which was put us under pressure from the first minute. We had about two counter attacks in the whole game other than that we were atrocious and if Brighton had more quality on the final 3rd we’d have lost comfortably. Good point from the view of us hanging on but overall we were battered.

Brighton battered us yesterday. Cut through our midfielder easily and basically bullied our attack and MF.

At least we were above Spurs for a week though, eh?! Give Arteta 4 more years!
