I never thought I would say that ever FML
But watch how they will now force their way to the top table. Give it a season or two.
Pushing us further down.
Us and Arsenal are truly now 2nd tier teams. We belong with West Ham, Everton and Leicester.
What truly glorious sports oriented owners we have.
I'm not gona lie I'm envious of Newcastle

I’ve had time to digest some of this now and I’ve. Implement changed my mind. I’m with you guys. There’s just something that makes me feel really uneasy about all of this. I imagine that conflict is even worse for Newcastle fans. I saw a photo of a local lad holding a Saudi flag on top of the Bobby Robson statue and it made me shudder.
This is just wrong. Totally understand now.

And it is worth saying that you can’t expect too much from the PL either given, like you say, they’re a key ally and we have significant trading links with them at a government level.
On one hand, it’s great that it brings the attention to the fore more (which is why I’m never sure on the sports washing argument, I actually think it has the opposite effect in terms of raising awareness), it’s a shame the government don’t get more criticism and similar levels of vitriol though.

Not even slightly envious, I’d be ashamed if my club had that ownership. In fact I can hand on heart say I’d stop supporting Spurs in the event of such ownership.
Some things are bigger than football.

Same, and I agree with Genius Greaves for once!
F*ck them and their vile human rights abuses.

I'm not sorry at all that we are not going to be owned by this despicable country, that chops up journalists and tortures and kills people. For all the nonsense about how Saudi Arabia won't control the club anyone can see that the money is effectively coming from the country itself. Sports washing is alive and well.

It's good to think these things through. You were right in a previous reply though, the hypocrisy is hard to avoid. There was a Newcastle fan on the news last night and he made a good point, He stated that it's not their fault these guys have come and and he questioned why all the questions were being asked of the club when the Saudis have their fingers in many other pies in he sporting world that doesn't get the same level of scrutiny. Likewise with many of the Russian owned clubs.
Time will tell and having all the cash doesn't guarantee success so, on the footballing front at least, I'm not too bothered.
