McTominay

He’s a beast of a player when he performs like he did yesterday evening.

Unfortunately, a bit like many of our players he only shows up every few weeks.

I didnt accuse anyone of anything.

I did agree however, that IF an individual wanted to protect Ole, then defending Ronaldo or Donny would be awkward / difficult.

Just stop talking shΔ«t please

Get off your high horse and quit whinging.

Well you haven't used either of those statements in anything like the correct context here but OK...

The problem is RDD, you assume everyone to be as disingenuous and agenda-driven in their views as you are. In your mind people giving an isolated opinion about Donny or Ronaldo must have some ulterior motive which relates back to the manager, because its the type of thing you'd do. You should know not everyone is a facking crackpot though.

Pot Kettle Black mate

I havent attacked anyone. Let alone for an isolated opinion on a football player.

I haven't accused you of attacking anyone.

What you did do on this very thread is agree with an utterly nonsensical statement about the root of other people's opinions.

We'd have a greater balance between defending and attacking if Cavani was our main striker.

This isn’t true, though.

We’ve had issues with getting the right balance between attack and defence ever since Ole’s been in charge.

We’ve played our best football, and looked the most balanced, when Martial was the striker. And he’s facking useless off the ball.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't say it would solve those issues, I said it would give us a greater balance.

Those issues will only be solved once our manager is sacked.

If we show ambition and actually employ a a manager who can win matches and play attractive football, Ronaldo won't be needed.

Can you imagine him in the Liverpool team? Ronaldo is by far a better individual talent than Firmino but Firmino gives their team better balance.

I'd even sacrifice some of Brunos goals and assists for him to be instructed to play in midfield instead of on the shoulder of the main striker. over the course of 38 games, we'd win more matches.

Well, you cant speak for everyone and their motives either.

But the evidence would suggest it doesn’t give us greater balance. What would happen with another manager or Ronaldo playing for Liverpool is kind of irrelevant.

That’s not to suggest Ronaldo doesn’t have his issues, he does. And it would become more apparent if we wanted to set up in a different way. But it’s just one of many issues that aren’t really any different with another type or forward. As I mentioned, we had a better balance with Martial in attack than we’ve ever had with Cavani playing, and the former is awful off the ball as well.

I agree, Martial on form is better than both when it comes to balance but his other attributes shine through, Ronaldo's don't anymore.

During his 19/20 season, he displayed diverse finishing ability, he was able to connect play, dribble through players, underrated heading ability and he also had the numbers to back this all up with 35 goal contributions

You pointed out his off the ball play as ALSO being terrible. It is nothing like Ronaldos off the ball play, where he is bottom of the charts for Premier League presses with 2.7 every 90.

Martial in his worst season (last season) averaged 8.98, a significant mark up on Ronaldo.

This is a perfect example of a less talented player providing better balance.

Ronaldo maybe the best player to ever walk on a football pitch but people need to separate sentiment and emotion from what is best for the team.

Ronaldo isn't what's best for the team.

He is better for the team than Martial mate.

Martial isn't displaying anything that I mentioned in my previous post. 19/20 Martial would be better for the team and currently, I'd say Cavani would be better for the team.
