Under the right coach he would be a useful player. Has a lot of attributes required to be a modern day midfielder.

posted on 31/10/21

His best attributes are getting forward. He scored 8 goals last season which was the most from our CM's if you don't include Bruno in that which I don't.

The 352 definitely brings out the best in Scotty that's for sure.

Really under rated player. Not a world beater by any means but definitely not garbage like some 'fans' say he is.

At most he should be a squad player but (along with Fred) gets ran to the ground every game because the manager is terrified of his £80m fridge shipping another six!

He’s a beast of a player when he performs like he did yesterday evening.

….

No he isn’t. He had a decent game is all. He still gave away the ball in stupid places and trundled through the midfield.

He's just another ordinary player and offers nothing that other players at the club don't already offer more of.

Indeed, there are probably 2 dozen journeyman footballers in the epl alone that are at the same level and above.

Yesterday's line up with Pogba instead of McTominay, and matic instead of lindelof should be United's starting outfield 10.

I'm seeing rivals having an injury crisis yet still bringing on two superior midfielders than the one's that start every game for the biggest club in the world.

It's called standards, you maybe a Glazer puppet but it doesn't mean everyone is.....

Tbf to Scotty he's had top games for us against good sides too including City. He doesn't shirk the big occasion. Thought he was our best player in Gdansk too in the final. He didn't deserve to be on the losing team.

He's definitely a good player to have at the club. Ironically the guy who everyone wants to take over from Ole, Conte, would probably love Mctomminay too.

Lol.
Imagine playing against a midfield of pogba and matic....
May as well play with 9 men

That was one of his better games in ages. I’m still not a big fan, though I think that we tend to take away from what he’s pretty decent at with the way he’s used - driving forward with the ball and supporting the attack. He doesn’t do enough in the middle of the pitch, overall, to be playing cm as often as he does.

He should be a squad player who can do a job when required. He works hard and offers physicality. He unfortunately doesn't have the technical ability on the ball to take us any further.

I think he’s a better player than others make out but hard to use yesterday as a good guide as Spurs are absolutely abysmal.

The trouble is all our CM's are flawed.

Mctomminay is a decent all rounder and good at getting forward but he's no world beater.

Fred has the best engine of all our CM's but he's completely awful on the ball.

Matic is done except for cameos and maybe the odd start here and there.

Pogba has bags of ability but has the heart of a mouse and doesn't even want to be here anyway.

If he was given the license to get into the opposition
Box I thin he could get 7-12 goals a season, he has a good eye for the goal.

If only you had a technically excellent Dutch midfielder with proven pedigree in the Champions League....

He seems to get better and better with every single game that goes by where he doesn't play.

Donny is a decent player but he's no world beater either. City, Chelsea and Liverpool weren't chasing him were they? They have better that's why.

He was the best player against West Ham, zero minutes since. Telles played a masterclass vs Villarreal, no minutes since despite Shaw being an utter shambles.

If Mourinho showed this level of favouritism he'd be getting canned.

Mct is homegrown so gets a lot of love. But I don't think he is a beast if a player. I think he is quite poor and hides in games.

Tbf I didn't ralise this morning hikst I was watching on tv or streams. But it's highly visible watching him live.

On the other hand Fred gets a lot of stick, from me too till I saw him live a few times. The guy does the job of 2/3 players. He is everywhere on the pitch. He has good games for Brazil and incam see why. He has good support. Problem for us is he has slow players around him, mct and Maguire and doesn't get support from the front men.

Just what we be "seen". Feel free to disagree
