I wasn’t entirely sure about this move as I really want to have Gerrard managing for us after Klopp, and a poor experience at Villa might preclude him from that.
But it’s good to see him back in the league and it would certainly help to have someone passionate about the game, Villa might well become many LFC supporters second club.
He won’t be Steve Bruce like in any way, gifting Man Utd points every game. Good to have another Man Utd hater in the league.
It’s not all bad news for Man Utd though, Gerrard coming back to the league means the Man U fans have got most of their chants / songs back!
Look forward to him getting a great reception at Anfield when he returns on 11th, perhaps a bit like Houllier, applauding the crowd and drinking in the salutations even though they got beat.
Good to have Gerrard back in Premier League

I don't think Lampard to Norwich is a stupid move at all to be honest, I probably think that's about his level. He did a good job with Derby in reaching the play offs and assembling a good Championship side, they just couldn't win the final against a slightly better Villa side, that happens.
He obviously took the Chelsea job at a time where he wasn't ready, but would never turn the opportunity down, because why would you. I do believe that a club like Norwich is about his managerial level and although they look resigned to playing Championship football next season, this season gives him a great chance to lay the foundations for next season, win promotion back to the Premier League and go again.

Hilariously lampard camp are trying desperately to spin it that he has pulled out of the running cos it came out that he wasnt favourite.
An embarrassing time for the guy. Villa trun to Gerrard and pay comp to get him over lampard being free and now Norwich think smith is the better bet to get them promoted next season

Smith is a good move for Norwich. He'll have a good stab at keeping them up, and if he doesn't then his Championship experience will serve them well as they attempt to get back up. If he gets the job then the match against Villa in December should be a tasty one; it's one Villa need to win.
Don't get the Lampard hatred. Came very close to getting Derby promoted and did well at Chelsea considering the transfer embargo. Sacked simply because Tuchel was too good an opportunity to miss.
Haven't the faintest how Gerrard at Villa will work out. He'll get all the support from the club he can wish for so could be a big success. Big test.

Lampard is now also out of rangers job picture as well as van bronkhorst looks like the favourite.
Embarrassing week for frank lampard.
It's not hatred, dont know what kind of silliness leads people to that thought. You actually have to care to actually hate anyone. It is just commenting on the fact that the guy has.been touting for jobs and getting knocked back and then trying to make a good face of it.
You'll note terry quietly put a couple.feelers out for rangers and nothing came of it so he will be wondering what to do next as well.
I have to say that smith was a bit unlucky at villa. There really only were 2.not so hard.games in the runs they've had v wolves and Southampton. I think they have played a lot of tough games there.and Gerrard should get a nice bounce but the real challenge is to buy well here and meet the expectations over the next 18-24 months

What I find interesting is lampard was routing for this job and now for Norwich job and isnt getting much traction.
Both started at about the same time and good loans put lampard in a decent position at derby but he failed to get promotion but then gets offered a massive job, reaches fa cup final and loses and then ends up sacked
The inability to organise a defence and the job tuchel has done since means Lampard looks weak
Gerrard thus far looks on the way up as he won the title with rangers despite looking in trouble the year before. Hes now jumped ship before it could go wrong and has the next chance
I wonder if lampard will get another chance as norwich seems a very stupid move for him as it's really getting ready for the championship and then having to win the thing.

I don't think some people realize how much of a snake pit the Championship is, Benitez just about clawed out of that league with the best team. Lampard did a good job at Derby, the way they played vs. PL teams in the cups alone tells you that - very good, aggressive attacking team.
Momentum's a big thing for a manager starting out, you have to always be on an upward trajectory as perceived failure usually sets you 2 or 3 steps back. What Gerrard's done going to Villa I rate, he might've got the Newcastle job if he really pushed for it but he's chosen the right path for someone who knows he has the dream job in his hands if he plays his cards right.
Lampard, in a similar position, wasn't as tactful (imo), but he'll absolutely get another chance. And he, and his future club, have the benefit of knowing the best youth setup in the country has his back/trusts him

Villans, I hope he does the do for you, you deserve to be at the top table. But remember this, in 3 and a bit seasons in the SPL he won ONE trophy.

Good start by Gerrard. Not highly entertaining, but the way Brighton play ensured that. The big thing was that the defence looked solid, vital in the PL, and it's left folk wondering why Smith went off the rails; we were back to the solid defence of last year.
Gerrard's substitutions were spot on, and triggered a excellent ending. It's only a start but the omens look good.

Great move for him. Good two years there and then back to Anfield is my dream.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is Klopp retiring then
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dunno but he will be gone from Liverpool in a couple of years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And the reasoning for this...?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The reasoning why I think it? Because he said so and that's the end of his contract.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
oh ok wasn't aware....we'll see anyway
