Fulham 0 - 0 Derby County

FULHAM v DERBY COUNTY....................……….......................... Sky Bet Championship Game 19

1945 Craven Cottage, West London 24th November 2021

Wow! Nice to dream isn't it? An excellent win - and thoroughly deserved - against a top of the league technically (allegedly) excellent side. Suddenly we are going to stay up, miracles do happen and to be at Pride Park on Sunday was a pleasure instead of a weary expectation of another mistake leading to another draw/defeat. Yes, I enjoyed but I never saw Vidal

It's just a case of sucking it now and enjoying the ride. Sunday provided a true glimpse of what we are capable off but how long can the likes of Davies, Jags and Stearman keep pumping away without just going into a total close-down? 'Keeper? another point of contention. Look, its no use berating Roos - the low level, but discernible growl of discontent which went round PP aimed at Roos was/is bang out of order. He's our number 1 'keeper and we'll certainly miss him when he's gone - like we missed Alsop when he wasn't playing and Marshall when he wasn't playing and back round to Roos when he wasn't playing.......

Fulham are top due to us beating the top on Sunday which now makes them top. Again the closest we will get to premier league opposition - again. Will be a toughie, seeing as we have not covered ourselves at Craven Cottage - just put 3 players on Mitrovic and we'll be ok

I mean, it is doable - isn't it? Let me know at 9.35pm on Wednesday night

And its nice to see you lot keeping the thread alive through these torrid time - love ya all

Team news:- Roos, Byrne, Forsyth, Begbie , Jagielka, Bird, Lawrence (C), Davies, Ebosele, Knight, Thompson.Substitutes: Allsop, Jozwiak, Morrison, Kazim-Richards, Stearman, Sibley, Williams.

I don’t really hold out any hope of avoiding relegation so I don’t think we have any “must wins”. What we have shown though gives great optimism that Rooney can coach and galvanise a team that can compete with anybody and that also plays in a good way. Let’s not forget he has got the thinnest of squads to work with and since the club has been under embargo for such a long time he has only been able to bring in players that couldn’t get clubs elsewhere, together with kids from the Academy.

I also thought the midfield looked tired but there are no real options for rotation. Thompson has given us a lot more in there than Morrison in my opinion and even at 80% the tenacity of the midfield three was tremendous. Maybe Rameses is right when he says that all of our players will inevitably leave the club but I doubt it, and even if we do lose a good few then I think if Rooney can do this with no budget then what could he do if he is allowed to wheel and deal? We can spring back from League 1 if it comes to that. The performance of the team and fans last night showed what is possible when you get a bit of unity. The future might still be bright.

Very good result last night, on to QPR on Monday, that will be a different hurdle to clear, I think that they will be more cautious than Bournemouth or Fulham.

Morning after View
Well, as the saying goes - you'd have settled for a point before the game wouldn't you - and 4 points out of 6 from the top two clubs is a good return....we just have to somehow turn it into points against the "lesser" teams don't we. But over these last 2 games we've showed that there's not that much difference in class between the "Have's" and the
"Have nots" in the Championship....it's how you apply yourself..

I thought the Derby fans were immense and you could her them singing / chanting all game...so if you were there well done.

So on to the game :

1. Roos. My MOM. Totally atoned for his gaffe of Sunday and produced a string of saves and was faultless.
2. Fozzie. Had a great game and had Harry in his pocket all night.
3. The Defence. Solid as a Rock.
4. Midfield. Thought they looked a bit leggy tonight with Shinnie and Knight in particular with poor passing.. Not a criticism - just an observation. I like Bird in the more advanced role and he rarely puts a foot wrong.
5. Festy. Another who I thought looked tired and I thought Rooney should've brought CKR on shortly after hald time.
5. Tommo....Not perhaps the impact he had on Sunday but showed some good touches and also thought he looked a bit tired. A baptism of fire for the lad.
6. The Captain. Is responding to the extra responsibility Rooney has put on him and another good game in which he played well. Well done Tom.

...and so on to QPR. Is it a "must Win" game ??? Well lets face it they all are....but well done Derby for giving us hope....UTR

Thank you xx

They thought it was a Derby effort and moved the ball to the right a bit.
