Good stuff, View!
I agree about Roos. People should get off his back. He is a goalie, not Pirlo and has prevented far more potential goals than he's let in.
Roos and Davies was never a recipe for great passing. Roos is surprisingly two footed for a goal keeper.
God only knows how much people would be on his back if he let in a goal like Marshall did for the U23s the other night.
Oh come on! Marshall an international 'keeper, rightly and widely lauded, only dropped by Scotland as he wasn't getting enough game time with us. But t henhe made a mistake for the U23's. Gosh!
Streets ahead of the other two, get him back in the starting 11

I was only saying that Marshall made a mistake and let a not too difficult shot through his legs, but had Roos done that some in the stands would be on his back for the rest of the game. That is just how it is, some players get an easier ride than others.

Yes, morning View....morning all.
Well, 2 players we'll be without. Sam Baldock (aka Muscle Strain) and Buchanan (6-8 weeks). I've been impressed with Buchanan and I think we'll miss him, although Fozzie is a good replacement with Williams as backup.
A tough game beckons tonight. Mitrovic and Harry Wilson are 2 good players.....so we really need to cut off the supply to them (somehow). Because we beat Muff it's easy to get carried away. I think we'll face a tough game. It's another of those "Uneven Playing Field" games against the Parachute Payment brigade...stocked with Prem players they ordinarily wouldn't be able to afford.. As long as we play with the same mindset as we did against Muff there's a chance. Didn't Coventry stick 4 past them of late ???
Anyway good luck tonight Derby
....Re Marshall. I doubt he'll play for Derby again. I think the rumours that he refused to play when the players wages didn't come through last year were true - and Rooney will only put in players who are single minded and committed. He got rid of all the others like Marriottt and Jozefzoon....and Marshall will be next.
We need a Marshall Plan.......

The longer players are out of the team the better they get. Marshall is a decent keeper and makes me less nervous than the other two but I think his distribution is worse. He would make more mistakes like the one Roos made on Sunday. It seems certain he will be leaving soon anyway. Foulness has impressed for the under 23s but the first team is an unforgiving place and it might be better for his development if he was loaned out somewhere before he gets put in at the deep end with us.
Thompson surely will keep his place. I wonder who Morrison was about to replace on Sunday just before we got our third goal? Might well have been him. Forsyth in for Buchanan, CKR for Baldock and we hope for the best. Davies put in an incredible display against Mitrovic in the play-off semi-final a few years back and we will need something like that to have even a sniff of a chance of a point.

That win against Fulham is the only one we have had when Mitrovic has played. I think every other game has been a defeat. He really is our nemesis.
Fozzie against Barnsley was as bad as anyone I have seen in a Derby shirt. Hope he has improved since that night. I don't think we will miss Baldock though. Hard to see how he has made a good living out of football without being found out somewhere along the way.
Can we hope for another miracle tonight? Maybe the result on Sunday was our Ipswich game and we will go on a run of wins. That is probably the biggest maybe ever.
I was late to leave the ground on Sunday and as I was wandering past the North Stand Forsyth and Jozwiak were warming down so I gave them a few encouraging words as I passed. So if Forsyth is half decent tonight I will take all of the credit.

Rooney did say in his interview that he had planned to subThompson, so that he could receive the adulation of the crowd.
Vidal, I think the argument you make for loaning out Foulkes might also have been applied to Thompson and, potentially, to Cashin, before he is given his opportunity. However, it appears that Liam was good enough to make the transition already. I think the case for loaning players out is overstated and they will in fact learn more from training with a Championship squad and participating in the team spirit. If they're good enough....etc.
Are you making the trip south tonight vidal?
I agree with that Ang. But then loaning out Harry Kane and Mason Mount didn't exactly harm their careers and there are many others who have benefited from being sent elsewhere for a spell at different levels. Aaron Ramsdale is probably the best English keeper around at the moment. At 19 he was loaned out by Bournemouth to Chesterfield and then Wimbledon for the best part of 2 seasons. On his Chesterfield debut he made a very bad mistake and scored an own goal. That kind of mistake can really dent a player's confidence but if you do it on loan at Chesterfield maybe there is less scrutiny than at a higher profile club. After he finished his two loans Bournemouth sold him for 18 million pounds.
I'd definitely favour sticking him in the team if and when all hope of survival is gone though and then Rooney can see what he is made of.
Can't get there Scouse. I have bought my ticket for Brizzle away though. 34 quid, can you believe it.

The long and winding road? Think that was McCartney what wrote that one.
Nevertheless, I'm struggling to think of a Derby player, loaned out to the lower leagues in recent times, who came back to the club fit and a better player and then went on to a run in the first team.
Timi Max Elsnik springs to mind. Never looked the same player after his loans, but now playing internationally for Slovenia, so the talent was definitely there. Perhaps the mistake was not giving him a try out here, but I suppose the circumstances were very different to now ?
I suppose you could argue Max Lowe was improved by his loan period in Scotland. Roos maybe is another but that's arguable. I wonder whether the latter would say it helped him or not. For a goalie in particular there isn't a middle ground where you can get a few sub appearances late on in games to have a bit of a taste of it. You are either bunged in at the deep end or you sit on the bench. I don't really agree with the good enough old enough adage, lots of players need time to develop their game. I don't think there is a right or wrong either way, no doubt some benefit from going straight into the first team as soon as they are weaned. Rooney himself for example.
Last time we beat Fulham at CC, 28th October 2014.
Fulham 2 - 5 Rams.
I'd settle for that tonight.
