Anyone interested in the Matrix Unreal 5 Demo, follow the link. The speculation that Keanu was a computer generated image, seems to have been false.
But this is a playable demo, and there is some impressive tech. But no we are not quite in the Matrix just yet.

Well in the demo he clearly is - and overall it's a VERY impressive tech demo for what the future of games will be like next gen. Something like GTA 6 will be visual amazing. If my dates are righ this engine will be available to everyone Q1 next year.

Played it and it looked and ran incredible on the Ps5.
Can’t wait for full games using this tech in the future.
I though the first Matrix game was great though years ago

Are you saying Keanu is computer generated? To me the stuff at the beginning is the real Keanu. When he enters the car then it becomes computer generated, or at least AI has been used to make them look younger.
They don't actually point to what is and isn't real, to me that is keanu the actor at the beginning.

Nope before is in engine, there are some clear indicators both body movement and the face not looking quite right, but come one we saw that already in Cyberpunk last year - so an almost photorealistic Keanu isn't exactly unhead of, and UE5 engine has looked amazing since its first showing. Yes there is in game Keanu and rended Keanu and there is a bigger difference there, but rendered Keanu for sure is pointing to both how games will be in a few years, and game cut scenes. But honestly that isn't the most impressive thing in the demo, flying around the city with almost zero drops and the amount of detail, even being able to go straight up stalker is incredible.

Worth catching digital foundry tomorrow, but here is a break down of the sections and what tech Epic are using:
First of all, the experience is actually split into three separate and distinct sections. The first is a character showcase, with Epic successfully creating digital models of both Keanu Reeves (Neo) and Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity) - rendered as they are today, but also as they were in the original Matrix trilogy. What we're seeing in these initial scenes is a fascinating mixture of both library assets and fully real-time rendered characters, and it's actually been quite fascinating for us at Digital Foundry to attempt to pick out which is which! Epic's impressive MetaHuman digital actor technology is deployed here, with Reeves and Moss digitally scanned and custom-built but added to the MetaHuman systems which handle rigging and animation.
The character showcase gives way to a fully playable, albeit somewhat linear, action sequence, which introduces the player character - IO - created from the standard MetaHuman toolbox. At this point it's intriguing to see how a fully 'synthetic' character creation within the MetaHuman system matches up to custom-scanned iconic characters, and the answer is: rather well, actually. With Neo flying off leaving Trinity at the wheel, what transpires next is essentially Virtua Cop-style gallery shooting gallery rendered with next-level visuals. It's a highway shoot-out reminiscent of The Matrix Reloaded except this time, you're in the thick of the action. The fidelity of the city streets is on a level we've never seen before, with the PS5 and Xbox Series X rendering at an almost Blu-ray level of quality.
What's important to understand at this point is that while what you're seeing is a linear set-piece, it is taking place in a fully realised open world. Not only that, while the car-flipping explosions may look quite samey from one 'bang' to the next, it's all being calculated in real-time using Epic's Chaos physics system, with the action changing from one run to the next, even if you're feeding very, very similar inputs into the game. At this point, all I can really say is that if you own compatible hardware, you absolutely must give it a go. There's a suitably spectacular ending set-piece, but remarkable, this is not the end of the demo.
Well if you wanna read it all check out the piece here: https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2021-the-matrix-ue5-demo-is-incredible

But for sure the tech more or less puts it on par with Hollywood deep fake tech of Rogue One for sure

Some good input from you Simon
One things for sure, it shows how far things have come, and the potential for this and future generations.
