Free PS+ games for December

Godfall, played that quite early on the PS5.

Brilliant showcase of the smooth gameplay and graphics the PS5 can handle, but ultimately a dull or pretty boring game I thought.

Good for new users of PS5's this Christmas to download though.

what a boring "gift" of games

glad I jumped ship and got an Xbox

Tino, so free PS+ games made you switch?

Strange thing to say, but as long as you enjoy that is all that matters. Funnily enough, my daughters new boyfriend came round and played Spiderman on my PS4, he then wanted a PS5. I laughed and said good luck with that But he has actually got one, and is loving it. To each their own I suppose.

Oh I meant to point out, he was an xbox player, and actually owns a series X.

Hmmmm Mortal Shell, one of the most underrated games of the year is boring? What's on games for gold in December? Orcs must die and Tropica, yeh you must have been so happy to jumps ship.

But please let me know you thoughts on Demon Souls remake as I'll be grabbing that over Christmas as I am just finishing up Ghost of Tsushima

With the whole Xbox vs PlayStation thing, it’s never been much of a contest for me.

Yeah, I preferred the PS pad because I had been familiar since being 4/5, but it was mainly because there was nothing on Xbox that I really wanted. I love single player RPGs and story-driven games, and so there was only ever one option and that continues to this day.

My top five favourite games of all time are as follows:

Final Fantasy X;
Bloodborne;
Uncharted 2;
God of War; and
Gran Turismo 3.

All PlayStation exclusives when they released.

These days, the games I really look forward to and basically the reason I still have a console are:

Anything from Naughty Dog;
Anything from FromSoftware;
Anything from Rockstar;
God of War;
Ghost of Tsushima;
Spider-Man;
Gran Turismo.

That’s not to mention games I still loved, but wouldn’t class as “all time favourites” like Days Gone, Infamous, newer Final Fantasies, Horizon.

The vast majority are PlayStation exclusives. Even FromSoft, their best game is a PlayStation exclusive.

Thought the first Halo on the original Xbox was banging and I always wanted to play Fable but, other than that (and like most great franchises, Halo seems to have been done to death and ruined), I have very little interest in most Xbox exclusives.

Not into the whole “console wars” malarkey, but it’s always been a very easy choice for me, personally

Anyway, back to the point at hand!

Don’t know too much about Godfall, but will still give it a go.

With Mortal Shell, I understand that they’ve kind of ripped off FromSoft a bit (who hasn’t!?), however, most FS fans I know say that it’s one of the rare instances in which it’s done very well.

As we don’t get Elden Ring until Feb (March?), I’m quite pleased with this one, as it’ll help me kill the time! I will most probably play Bloodborne again, too 😅

Yeh my response is I am just being completely facetious, as I hate these stupid console war type comments "I am so glad I jumped ship" how edgy you are little boy,like seriously.

Rooney I think you are spot on. Do I like Halo infinite - yes.........but it's just Halo, which isn't a bad thing, it's the best version of Halo there has ever been which is great, but it's just Halo, ditto this for GoW, and Forza. These games are all good, and the latest versions are undoubtedly the best, but there isn't anything new.

I am looking forward to the new IPs that MS have coming out, but atm imo they have nothing and have really been struggling all the previous gen except their indie platforms (Ori and Cuphead).

posted on 2/12/21

Cuphead was a brilliant game and I picked that up as soon as it came out on PS4. The good thing with most indie games is that they are almost always on Switch from launch, irrespective of their “fixed console” allegiance.

The switch being able to ‘switch’ into a portable is so underrated for me. I never play it as a fixed console, but I need to travel a lot with work, and it really comes into its own (though, how it doesn’t support streaming platforms like Netflix and Prime, I’ll never know).

For example, I am terrified of flying and have to fly a couple times every month with work (prescient of me, I know), and it saves me from crying into the lap of my colleague or an air hostess 😂

Nothing to do with being edgy but cheers for calling me a boy it's been a long time since I heard that

Amiga and I go back close to a decade easily and he knows I enjoyed my ps4...

That said I am genuinely impressed with the xbox and the catalogue on game pass is top quality/value

It's all good Tino me old mucker. I am no fan of xbox personally, more specifically MS. But to each their own.

I see your making new friends on the wolves board 😂😂

Yes, well some fans love to live in their own little bubble. They don't like having them burst.

There's a division that can't be mended and unfortunately there's barely a dozen of us

We all want the same thing, some fans are just more realistic than others.

As the great nuno once said

Dreans are free

posted on 2/12/21

The trouble is paying for them isn't. Derby are on the edge at the moment. The fans blame the owners. But how many of them were asking questions about the money being spent or where it was coming from?

Cinci, would literally bankrupt the club. as his only idea of progression is spending money.

posted on 2/12/21

Nah cinch is one of the good guys and we do need 3 signings but to keep this moderately on topic

The shops will get ps5's in before we sign a CB

posted on 2/12/21

Cinci is a good guy, he just has no idea about running a club. And he wouldn't think twice about paying over the odds for a defender from a scalper.

But back on topic, I really don't see the xbox as good value, and strangely even my daughters boyfriend is saying the same. He is simply enjoying his Playstation more. Still early days, he has only had it a week, But he is starting to realise what he was missing out on. and how MS operate.

He will still play his xbox online with his mates, but he is now invested in Playstation, and some of them are thinking of joining him.

I dunno the series S at 250 is ps4 money a decent external at 60 quid and game pass is on a ridiculous offer at the moment.... Yeah not as powerful as the full fat series X or the ps5 but as you can't get hold of the ps5 it's a moot point

So as a intro to the next gen with a lot of top games for 250 (I've dropped that on a night out) is actually good value

posted on 2/12/21

Power doesn't count for much if it isn't used Tino. You look at games like Uncharted, Spiderman, Ghost of tshima, TLOU2, Detroit. etc and you not only have top quality, but also great variety.

Again something Jack (daughters new boyfriend) is coming to realise.

posted on 2/12/21

The important question is do you like Jack 😂😂

posted on 2/12/21

Actually Jack does seem a decent guy. I wouldn't have let him play Spiderman on my PS4 if he wasn't

The great thing of now having kids of a particular age is I’ve always managed to have both

Played more on the ps over the past couple of years due to some of the exclusives (although Halo Infinite will definitely be getting a run out over the next couple of months and I prefer Forza to Gran Turismo), gamepass is very good though, particularly as I’ve never paid full price for it, and I tend to play cross platform games on the Xbox.

Thinking about it, the switch has probably had more use than either!
