But I really, REALLY wish he was.
We got a leader of an opposition that offered to put the country first.
And instead, we elected a man who has never even tried to hide the fact that he's completely self serving, completely without morals, empathy for the people he's supposed to be serving and is prepared to throw anyone (including allies) under the bus to save his own job.
Sorry for all those who would say "lefty loony". Why is it so bad to want to see someone who would genuinely have tried to make a difference "For the many, not the few"?
Why would it be so bad to see someone in charge that shows some empathy to the poorer members of the country, instead of using and abusing the power they have to make their already sizeable bank balances even bigger?
The Tories have never ever shown anything but utter contempt for the working classes and yet they're probably safe for at least the next 2 general elections, especially if they bin Boris within the next 12 months.
And even if they're not? Starmer is just another Champagne Socialist. Or as I prefer to know them, a Tory in drag.
What I don't get is how could millions of educated people not see that the press before the last general election, that our press were demonising Corbyn, going after him personally, not his policies, yet ignoring every lie or scandal the Tories were involved in?
Why would it be so bad to at least see if someone who showed they cared, would do a better job than someone who clearly doesn't?
If Corbyn messed up we would only have had 5 years. We're heading for 15-20 years with the Tories. Nothing has got better for the working classes and it never will.
And now we've got the hobson's choice another member of this site once predicted of the Tories or the Tory Lites.
I know Corbyn was not electable

It's probably clear from this page I'm still very sore about the Labour loss, but the disrespect Diane Abbott gets is even more infuriating. A black woman in Oxbridge in the 70s, the first black female MP, and still an intensely popular constituency MP. By all rights she should be considered a mother of the House, instead she's statistically the most abused female MP
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The abuse Abbott receives is often racist, sexist and wrong.
As an MP and operator in modern politics, she is inept, badly prepared and a figure of fun.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you talking about our current PM?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Boris is a clown ๐คก
Abbott is not very good.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Abbott is not very good!!!!! So why does she keep getting voted in with massive majorities. I suggest because her local electorate think she is very, very good.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
She really is not, which does not mean Boris is, btw...as that is the usual next sentence in reply๐

That old chestnut…
They said that about the red wall and after a bunch of false promises from Tories they took some of those seats.
Do you think Islington North will be won by a Labour candidate or Corbyn?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Islington North voted for Corbyn even though he was more interested in Northern Ireland than child abuse taking place in Children’s care homes in his own constituency. You’re splitting hairs here Red, my point being is you don’t have to be a good MP to be a elected in certain areas.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair call, some areas being Tory or Labour or unionist or nationalist is all voters want, despite the skills or lack of, from MPs.
Corbyn stuck his beak into and backed militant Irish republicanism and Islamist extremists Hamas, and alienated millions of voters in doing so.Even though Irish people and moderates in the Palestine arena told him not to support violent fundamentalists.
Supporting nutters, as Corbyn also did in the Soviet era, Eastern Europe, Cuba and south central America, revealed lack of leadership and insight from a bloke seeking to govern the UK...where British security services did not even trust the guy, a potential securiy liability as PM?
Suppose we got Boris though, ๐

Fark me, you've swallowed the nonsense that gets dished up about Corbyn hook line and sinker, haven't you? You might as well wear a cap that says "I believe any old shiite the Tory press tell me".
And Corbyn is a security liability? Have you seen that the US don't trust us about Ukraine, because there has been so much money poured into the Tory party from Russia. There is supposed to be a report about that, but the Tories are refusing to publish it.
But sure, Corbyn is the security risk.

What are you wittering on about? He’s been continually elected.
Do you think Labour will win in North Islington standing against Corbyn?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know, that's my point.
As I said, you're splitting hairs, Corbyn is Labour in all but name.

Errr Corbyn was deemed a security risk. The fact he made Abbott his Shadow Home Secretary even though she sided with the RA over the UK proves the guy's a liability. Thank Feck he wasn't handed the keys to number 10.

Must be why he was a member of the privy council.

People throw Irish Republican Army sympathiser at Corbyn all the time.
He isn't nor was he. He acknowledged if you want an end to conflict you have to sit down with the people.
If we didn't then how how come we're not still fighting WW1? By anyone who slates Corbyn for wanting place's logic, we should be. Germany weren't a beaten nation. So the only way to end it was by sitting down an talking to them.
It's the same with the 'RA'.

Don't most Tory leaders support right wing dictatorships. What's the difference? Thatcher cosied up to Pinochet, and he was a mass murderer. Not only the left that cosy up to unsavory characters. Although I get you are a Loyalist, and they are squeaky clean.
