Corbyn would have won the election only if he had stayed away from those anti-Semites 👍
Starmer and labour ahead in polls and may replace bojo.
Corbyn and momentum Corbynista could always stand in their own party, but UK is centre right then centre left.

Among other things.
Working classes did not trust him in millions.
His Eurosceptic and Brexit stance did not help labour either.
Bojo is a clown and I hope labour or lib Dems get in next time, for a change??
Lib Dems? I have lost my faith in them after they were in coalition with Tories..
Corbyn should have been a Remainer if he wanted any hope of leading the Labour Party

It will be the tories again. People are facking stupid, see Brexit for details.
Andy Burnham would be a perfect leader for the Labour Party
Boris is just one of the lads. Nothing wrong with a few drinks. Just shows he is human and relatable, just like one of us really. The PC liberal elite trying to cancel him for having a glass of wine. They will not defeat us average UK blokes. Boris is just one of us, we are with you Boris.
Working classes were heavily influenced by Tory backed media. This is established.
Isn't this a football forum? People should keep this utter nonsense to a relevant forum for politics.

Probably right. The right wing press would find a way of mis-characterising him though, it's what they do.

There are many (myself included) on this forum who post mainly on non-football related articles. Can't remember the last time I even commented on a footy thread tbh, despite posting pretty much daily.
If you don't wish to contribute to a particular thread, there is no requirement for you to do so.
Labour are finished in Scotland. They aren't coming back either which makes it increasingly difficult for them to win elections.
If anyone can make it possible it's Johnson.
Corbyn polarised the Labour party and made it extremely difficult to be electable.
Both Tory and Labour have scales of views, from relatively centralist through to strongly left or right. What the Tory's have traditionally been very good at is putting differences aside in order to gain power. Support those they don't necessarily align with for the greater good of obtaining government.
Corbyn essentially demonised the centre of the party and tried to radically reshape Labour as a strongly left wing party. He seemed to think as you do - centre-left beliefs were Tory's in drag.
As someone who is centre-left, I've never voted Tory in my life and didn't like that the Labour party was no longer inclusive to a range of left wing views.
He may have been an excellent opposition leader, capable of holding the government to account, but his non-negotiable stance on his own electoral base made his chances of becoming PM zero. Absolutely zero.
Will Starmer become PM? No idea. But I know he has a shot at it and I would far rather have a shot at removing the Tories than none whatsoever.
Of course he was electable, but several years of a targeted media campaign made fools believe he wasn't.

I have consistently voted labour throughout my life and I disliked him because he wasn't open to more moderate left views. You can't alienate a proportion of your voters and be electable.
I'm just one person but there were millions and millions of labour voters who will have had similar thoughts.
As somebody with no political allegiances I didn't vote labour due to Corbyn. On a personal level he'd have done a lot of damage to my industry (financial services) and I do think he had a really poor grasp of economics which would have led to a lot of issues. I didn't vote for this incompetent rabble either, but I was probably more concerned about Corbyn than Johnson and co at the time.
Personally, I like Starmer . Had a proper career, talks sense and I feel he's electable. Appreciate the hardcore labour voter won't like him, but imo he's a lot more electable for the average member of public and I think he'll win the next election.

I will be amazed if the tories don’t win the next election- despite all they’ve done, my faith in the British public is minuscule, they will always do the wrong thing
