It feels good to be a Forest fan at the moment. Despite games in hand, or games out of hand, we are still sixth.
In the next 5 weeks we play nine times including; Bournemouth, Sheffield United and Fulham away. At home our most difficult games are Stoke and QPR in the league.
After that hectic period our last eight league games have us playing only the 8th and 9th position teams in the current top 12. Make a good run over these next nine games and we can be firmly nestled in the top six, make a great run and we have a chance of auto's going down the straight.
A LONG way to go yet of course, but it's nice to feel positive about Forest for a change.
Over the last ten (not inc. the FA Cup) we are:
*3rd in the form table (v 14th)
*3rd joint most goals for: 17 (v joint 13th: 12)
*4th joint least goals against: 8 (v joint 8th with 10)
*Forest over the last ten are 2.1 PPG
*Stoke are 1.1 PPG
Over the last six:
*Forest are W4 D1 L1 Home - GF 9 GA 3
*Stoke are W3 D1 L2 Away - GF 6 GA 3
This would be a match I normally wouldn't fancy us in. But the likes of Cook, Davis and Surridge means we are a match physically for Stoke. Maja came off the bench for them in the last game, so will likely start.
The last time we played them we were in 24th. We started with the following team and ended up losing 1-0: (Johnson and Grabban coming on five minutes after we went a goal down in the 71st minute...)
Samba
Back Figs McKenna Bong
Yates Cafu
Z.Nagel Carvalho Mighten
Taylor
When we faced Blackburn yesterday, only Samba, McKenna and Yates made the starting XI. With Figs, Cafu and Zinco not featuring from the bench.
Stoke only retained five starters in their starting XI v Swansea.
Based on our recent run, our last outing at Stoke and our squad now vs. then, I am going for a 2-1 Forest win.

Just seen the highlights and the sending off
Samba is totally disgraceful - he needs dropping altogether for his absolute arrogance and pathetic attitude - honestly no excuse for his total stupidity today

Lowe & Spence might not have been available to come on loan, but I don't think C.H played Johnson more than a sub. Plus Cooper would have got a lot more out of Grabban, because Brennan creates space with his pace & occupying a second defender.

Derby had 21 points deducted, we barely turned up for our first 21 points, gained only one of them, but as stated we'll never know if we'd have done better under SC, though the likelihood is we probably would have.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just done the calcs, we would be second behind Fulham by 2 points but ahead of Bournemouth by 3 points.

I have seen the incident with Samba also, looks like the player and Samba clash while the balls in the air. Samba catches it and try’s to throw it and the player either is trying to block or says something and samba clips him cloughy style with his spare hand!
Of course their player makes an absolute meal out of it but it’s daft and a sending off by todays standards all day long.
Looked a little bit to me like they were targeting samba looking for a reaction. Something he will need to be aware of as we move forward

Agree he was stupid but the stoke player went looking for it and went down like he had been shot rather than given a clip round the head. Pen yes you can't hit a player but the stoke player should have at least been booked as you equally dont run in to the keeper from behind.

By coincidence Chris Hughton is a pundit on Sky for the Norwich v Man City game.
He is a decent guy, nice humility to him that I appreciate but replacing him with Copper has been brilliant for us, better for all parties in the end

Still no excuse to just hit out the way he did - totally unprofessional and stupid
