Whether it's Ten Hag, Poch or whoever that takes over this summer I suspect our transfer business will probably underwhelm a big part of our fanbase.
Why?
I can see us going for much younger less well known players this summer who have potential to get better and better. Don't think the 'Galactico' approach has worked that well for us anyway nor does it suit us.
It would be great to see a really talented youthful Utd team grow together under somebody like Ten Hag or Poch. The league title is already out of question next season almost certainly and maybe even the year after that too. So there's no real need to sign 34/35 year olds in the hope we can challenge City and Liverpool. We won't.
A better strategy would be to assemble a team that can look to get there in the next 3-5 years and further beyond that too. Arsenal have started to lay the groundwork for this approach too although they are still some way off being able to challenge the top 2 of course.
I really don't think we should be signing too many players out of their peak years anymore and maybe none at all.

SE85 - issue is they don’t want to let go of control. They are too egotistical and actually believe they are doing well. Ed believe clearly he’s been a success. Maybe under glazer metrics he has been? Ralf is not going to to come in and consult. He’s not even going to have any say on the next manager. It’s going to be the same people making the same terrible decisions

De Gea hasn't chaned for years. I just saw randomly supercup game and De Gea made both goals as easy as possible for Real Madrid. He stayed on his line and made himself as small as possible and went with his feet so the opposition had near an open goal to aim at both times.

SAF once said it would be wrong to have a squad of players the same age who all age together and peak at the same time. He suggested having a group with different age groups was best as it’s easier to replace one or two than the whole group at the same time.
So going by that wise logic we should try and make sure all age groups are catered for rather than trying to have a group of under 25s. Yes there’s a place for some great young signings but we also need some ‘ready to step in’ older players around the 28-30 mark who can do the heavy work while some of the younger players are inconsistent.
Whether it’s Ten Hag or Poch I’m sure they’ll want that too. What Ten Hag did with Ajax in terms of age is fairly irrelevant as he will need some older players who understand the assignment so to speak.

Yeah we’ve been really lacking in that area with the age profile of the players. It’s something that needs addressing, we’ve been badly lacking the right amount of players between the age of 25-30, and many of the ones we have had are shiiiiiiit anyway.

Given that he could hardly find time to breathe due to having Ronaldo’s diiiiick in his mouth, I highly doubt it’s a signing he wasn’t massively in favour of.
