Victor Lindelof, Paul Pogba and Tahith Chong have all suffered break-ins at their homes this year, Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo was injured in a similar incident and Liverpool players have also been affected.
This happens particularly when criminals know these players are playing matches.
Lindelof's home was attacked during United's win over Brentford and Pogba's home was broken into during the Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid. On both occasions other family members were inside at the time.
While in Liverpool Fabinhoβs house was burgled when away playing CL. Perhaps players should be thinking twice before joining teams up north. I expect Newcastle players to be targeted soon.
If I were a footballer or their agent, I would stay away from those places or as an agent, advise them to only sign for London teams for their own peace of mind

Yep London is definitely safer πππ

Another truism is that if players decided to play for only London clubs they would seriously have to lower their achievement, career and market price expectations. What decent team would want to sign a player without ambition?

These players get paid huge sums.
Why not sort out their own security guards when away?

Its not preferable to have (so many) guards hanging around where you raise your kids. Can also be weird with neighbours and guests.

Would they need to be hanging around? could sit in a car or van on the street with a feed to the home security cameras ? Only need to step on property if needed? Also theyd be professionals and probably vetted ? Could easily never be seen unless needed.

There wives would probably be murdered by the police if they moved down South.

Obvious solution. Clubs offer domestic protection while players are away on club duty or players pay for it themselves. Some wives may not like or agree to it but then accept the possible consequences.
I can't believe that there is not a company who offer trained, vetted, female bodyguard services.

Vets are for the guard dogs surely?
