On Friday Wolves will travel to Newcastle to take on Eddie Howe’s Magpies.

Wolves go into the game on the back of a 2-1 home win against Aston Villa.
Newcastle go into the game on the back of a 5-1 away loss to Spurs making it 3 defeats in a row after collecting 20 points from their previous 8 games.

Eddie Howe took up the reins at Newcastle on 8th November 2021, since that time he has won 7 of the 20 league games played, losing 8 and drawing 5 giving him a win percentage of 35% an improvement on his predecessor, Steve Bruce who after his 97 games in charge had a win percentage of just 28.87%.

In the reverse fixture in October Wolves ran out 2-1 winners with 2 goals from Hee Chan Hwang.

Wolves currently occupy 8th place in the league table with 49 points.
The Magpies are in 15th place with 31 points.

Wolves will be without striker Raul Jimenez for the second game due to a 2 match suspension. They will also be without midfielder Ruben Neves who is currently injured. Winger Daniel Podence took a knock in the game against Villa and may be a doubt. Other than that, Bruno Lage should have a fully fit squad to choose from.

Newcastle skipper Jamaal Lascelles may remain on the subs bench due to recent positive performances from CB pair Dan Burn and Fabian Schar. Callum Wilson remains unavailable.

The last time Newcastle beat Wolves in a Premier League game was on October 1st 2011. In the 7 league games played since December 2018 Wolves have won two with a 2-1 score line. The other five have all been 1-1 draws.

The game will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Premier League.

Would not have predicted us, United, West Ham and arsenal all losing this weekend, only Spurs have taken advantage. European hopes revived for another couple of weeks at least.

Does anyone want those European places? We have to see what happens over Easter. Unfortunately United and West Ham are at home to Norwich and Burnley but fingers crossed

With have been underdogs with the bookies a lot this season.

We are underdogs most times we play away from home. So basically, no one ever expects us to win away.

Anyway, we need to be keeping an eye on Leicester.

Noticed that Inter Miami won 3-2 last night and Campana scored all three of their goals

Wolves u23 and Women's teams were in action today.

The U23s won 1-0 at Peterborough in the league cup quarter final. Chem Campbell made his first team debut on Friday and was back at this level today and scored the only goal.

Wolves Women won 2-0 to clinch their Northern league championship with 4 games to spare. They will now face a play off against the winners of the southern section and the winners of that will earn promotion.

Aren't the women playing at Molineux this week? Don't know what format the playoff is but would make sense to have that at the molineux too if practical.

Yes the women play at Molineux on Wednesday evening. I presume the play offs will be two legs and they’d get a decent crowd at Molineux if that’s the case. The southern division isn’t settled yet but Southampton are top with games in hand on the teams below them

Looks to be the case that Podence and Dendoncker will be fit for Wolves next game at Burnley on April 24th and of course Jimenez will be back from suspension. And it seems Neves may be back sooner than expected also. Neto will be assessed closer to the time though as he has been getting niggling injuries since coming back.

Reports from Portugal saying Benfica would like to attract Bruno Lage back as their manager. The club have said they will be bringing in a new man in the summer and have had someone lined up. But the supporters have let them know Bruno would be their first choice

Matt Doherty has been establishing himself in the Spurs team recently but he got injured against Villa and will miss the rest of the season
