Smash 'em, they have packed in for the season.
If we play anything like we did yesterday we should beat Newcastle. They're more solid than they were earlier in the season but you get the impression they've eased off a bit recently and are maybe more focused on next season. Can't see us battering them like spurs did today but if the defense can hold I reckon we'll be good for another narrow win. A vaguely competent referee would be nice too.
Proper 3 pointer this one, or 2 if it ends in a draw.
I am going 1-1, they will have a reaction after yesterday, especially in front of their own fans.
Hopefully you guys make Europe at West Ham’s expense, I would very much like that.
If we do make Europe its most likely to be the Conference league which I suspect will not be the incentive the Ruben Neves needs to stay this summer.
Just been reading that there are moves afoot to line a deal for him to move to a Champions League club in the summer, Barcelona being one possibility, though Premier League clubs are interested too. I'd prefer he goes abroad personally but wherever he goes I'll wish him well.
I remember watching his first game in this country, a pre-season friendly at Shrewsbury and mentioning on here, rather dismissively, that he looked very similar to Jack Price in his play. Im happy to admit that I grossly underestimated him that day.
Just been back and dug this up....ffs

Good sum up DJ, if they are going to employ that formation, the passing needs to be faster and more accurate. Thing is I don't think we have the players to make it work. Cav was awful, and Miranda who impressed me the other night, couldn't pass wind today. Dicko made a complete mess of his one chance. As did Zyro.
Lots of work to do. Thought Deslandes did ok second half as did Eno. Price was Price, if Neves is worth 15.8m so is he .
Would be very sad to see Ruben go but that's football.
We should get at least £60 mill for him, if so we need to invest it straight away.
Looks like we have dropped a huge b*****k with Traore, his value will have dropped and he will not be
happy coming back. I would hope we can get a reasonable price for him, but would prefer to sell both abroad.
I thought Barcelona did not have funds for large purchases? I can see Neves having success with a Champions League side and more likely one outside of England
No question that we will receive sizeable offers for Neves this summer. Would love him to stay but have to accept that every player has a price. I don't think its a foregone conclusion that he will leave, but its certainly possible.
If him or Moutinho leave then investment in midfield is our main priority, and given Joao's age its probably a priority even if they both stay. If they both leave then the short term future of the club will be totally dependent on how we replace them.
After the way we played for large parts at the weekend there's an argument for keeping the same team for Friday's game at Newcastle. But even with Neves and Jimenez still missing I still think a couple of changes would make us stronger;
Sa
Boly, Coady, Kilman
Semedo, Dendoncker, Moutinho, Jonny
Trincao or Podence, Fabio, Neto

Bit surprised to be saying this, but would go for Trincao over Podence. Wouldn't have said that a month ago.
Podence can look very exciting at times but he does give the ball away very easily sometimes. I'm also getting very p.ssed off with the amount of time he spends writhing around in agony before he gets up and carries on as if nothing has happened.
It would be harsh on any of the eleven who started the game against Villa, not to start this one. We are away and Bruno may well prefer a more defensive style to start off with, meaning Marcal should keep his place.
Both Semedo and Neto need to be handled with kid gloves at the moment and would be better suited coming off the bench.
Podence went off injured at the weekend didn't he? He took his boot off and went off after treatment, with Bruno changing the substitution from Trincao to him. Wouldn't surprise me to see him on the bench.
Starting with Semedo and Jonny is quite a possibility i think if Semedo is now ready.

You could win the Euro conference though, maybe he would fancy a crack at that
To be honest I think we will end up 8th, but wouldn't it be nice to sneak past Man Utd on the last day of the season.
They play at Palace whereas we only have to go to Anfield.

Yeah, it's the EFL cup of European tournaments though isnt it. Im not saying Wolves are too good for it (though would prefer to sneak in to the Europa again if we can) but I think Neves is.

Don't think Liverpool away will be our last game of the season. We have the re-arranged fixture with Man City to play as well. With their CL commitments it's unlikely they will squeeze in a game against Wolves.
If West Ham finish above us and win the Europa League, 8th place could become a ECL place.
Ironic that Podence eventually went off injured after he’d rolled around in agony half a dozen times previously when there was clearly little wrong with him. Bit of a cry wolf situation
he may have injured himself rolling around, it does annoy me too, unfortunate as there is so much to like about his game
The little man is probably the most technically gifted players I've seen in a wolves shirt. He's also a proper little sh*thouse too though. If he could channel his talent in a just slightly more focused, productive and consistent way he could be as good as Hazard or Zola at their best.

Don’t think the premier league will change the principle of all teams finishing with games at 16:00 on the same day. Our final home game against Norwich has now been moved to Sunday 14th May at 14:00 and my guess is we will play City in the midweek before that, which is City’s next free midweek
So we will play City and Liverpool in the last week of the season. Might just define who ends up as league champions.
