We signed Hwang early ffs
Rubbish penalty but we thoroughly deserve to lose this and have only ourselves to blame. Poor team performance and mostly poor individual performances too, feel sorry for Fabio up against giant Dan Burn with no service or support, and the two best bits we've done have been his lovely cross field pass and then his break up the left where he drew the foul.
I'm still baffled by the decision to sign Hwang while we still had time to assess him and nothing to gain by pulling the trigger - I accepted at the the time that at least it was a fairly low fee but a. Even that's starting to look high and b. Low fees add up - Hoever and Hwang cost nearly 25m between them, five times the amount we would have reportedly needed to add to the Botman fee.
Silva needs a feckin haircut his headers are all over the place
Silva doing ok though, pick of the forwards by a distance, though granted two of them didn't turn up did they?
Man, a night out in Newcastle appeals right now, always a cracking session up there
Lage deserves some of the responsibility here too - after that first half, and once it was obvious the same group wasn't going to turn it round in the second half, he should have made changes earlier.
Well that was fecking awful.
There it is. Writing was on the wall with the line up really. Front three as toothless as expected, a wing back in Marcal that won't offer much of an outlet and obviously a one man midfield isn't going to help.
Said all season i think our standing isn't an accurate account of the season, we are distinctly average and need some serious work to push on next season.
Can't complain about the result. Don't feel we really turned up tonight.
8th it is then.
BBC says we were dreadful, can't argue with that.
That shows why need investment this summer. We are always a few injuries away from being poor.
Honestly have to find a way to cash in on Hwang if we can. With the limited budget we have we can't be blowing it on such mediocre players.
One paced, pedestrian performance. Deserved absolutely nothing from that game. Most disappointing performance for a long time.
Absences played at part but the players that came in failed to prove that we have the depth to compete against a very average side. You don't expect the likes of Cundle to come in and be man of the match against top teams but against this standard of opposition you need players that can come in and look like they deserve the shirt. Didn't happen tonight.
Bit better second half but we didn’t do anywhere near enough to deserve anything. Still don’t have a deep enough squad but we might still have got a point if the subs were made 10 minutes earlier, not the first time Bruno has made that mistake
Think that's a bit unfair to single out marcal specifically, I actually thought he was our most consistent outlet all game. Receives it a lot and unlike almost anyone else also held onto it for the most part too. Minimal end product but that was because there was so little movement hwang in front of marcal, and trincao.
Yup the right substitutions, 20 mins too late

Don't get me wrong, i think Marcal is a steady player, just doesn't offer half of what Ait-Nouri does, or Jonny if we put Semedo back in.
Marcal had a decent second half but the game was crying out for more more balance in the attacking third which RAN provides.
I did actually think that Campbell looked tidy but he wasn't the answer to our problems.
Trincao's movement wasn't as bad as people will make out. In that first half, when Newcastle pressed onto Jonny there were several opportunities for Boly and Cundle to play the ball into him in space on the half turn. Each time they played the safe option and we'd go nowhere.
On the other side, Kilman was playing those passes into Hwang, but he never turns out so ends up playing safe and going backwards. That was pretty much the story of our first half. Play safe in our own half and then punt a long ball for Dan Burn to win.
We really missed Podence today. He would have popped up in pockets of space and tried to make something happen.
I'm sure their were reasons why both Neto and Semedo didn't start.
I taped the game and only watched the first half, which was abysmal from a Wolves point of view. Watched the Masters instead.
Hwang must be the biggest mistake this club has made in a long time. Why we didn't wait until the end of the season baffles me.
And for our Italian friend on here, I'd say Newcastle were up for it, wouldn't you?
Meanwhile Rafa Mir was scoring 2 for Seville
