I dont no if I should laugh or cry, I know alot of blue noses will be happy with this.

I share rayzabluenose's thoughts on our financial future! Cud be a long, long road ahead!! I also think Johnson, Foster and Dann will possibly follow him to the vile (SHould he go there). However if we can use the funds to re-invest in the squad then we may be okay. I think we need to appoing a young, forward thinking manager. Di Matteo or Poyet anyone?

He will always be a legend for leading us to a cup victory (something I never thought I would see in my lifetime), but if he goes to Villa then I'll always consider him a traitor.
Resigning when the going gets tough just makes him a coward, didn't really expect him to do this but hey, its his life, and if he wants the Villa lot on his back then let him go there, I'm sure they will love his negative, defensive football

"Alex McLeish
Won us a Cup
Went to the Vile
and f*cked 'em up".
Made it myself. Do you like it? I like it.

I feel he's probably been forced out by the board but he brought it on himself.By holding out forever for a new contract, then getting us relegated with negative,just-make-sure-we-don't-lose-tactics!

Why would he go to Cardiff?
They are in as big a mess as we are financially.Their better players have already gone with more to follow.
I think there will be plenty of interest in the job but the board might put off the better ones.
MoN will not come because he needs funds, which we dont have.
Chris Houghton or Billy Davies maybe. Gus Poyet is a great shout
Thankfully he quit early while there is stil time for the new guy to stamp his own style.
I wonder what the new signings make of all this. Just signed and the manager is on his bike.
Interesting times ahead.

Brian Laws is your ideal manager!

I always thought of AM as a decent guy and with his heart in the right place.
He had waited until he got the contract he wanted and unfortunately for him, though he won the CC getting relegated overshadowed that achievement.
I would have thought that out of respect for the Blues fans he would have given the Championship a go and if at Christmas he was struggling could have then done the honourable thing and resigned.
As it is and irrespective of what is going on behind the scenes with the board, he has jumped ship after steering it into shallow waters and has basically shown what his true colours are.
Had he thought the board were dodgy he could have delayed his contract until the end of the season and then taken stock.
He has dumped us and whilst in some ways i wish him well, he won't ever be welcome back at Stans by me.
Even if he goes to a non-PL team he has not been entirely honest and could have let it be known beforehand in the press if there were misgivings about the board rather than pulling the pin.
And what about the players who came in recently whilst he was in charge?
It takes a lot of nerve to dump people like that in the mire irrespective of whether some of them are not entirely welcomed to the club.
SOAM?
