Anfield and win. If you want to mix it with the big boys, then you have to beat them. No hoisting the white flag before a ball has been kicked.
Agreed Spurs will have to raise their game from today`s performance, but if you want something that badly, then you have to give everything, and not just accept defeat. I fully expect Spurs to beat the very average Arsenal outfit at WHL, but that may not be enough. A win at Liverpool would make it so much easier.
I am still expecting a few twist and turns. But Spurs just need to win their last four games, and they will secure CL. Simple.
At least Europa League is more or less guaranteed now. I would have settled for that at the start of the season, but the bigger prize is still very much in Spurs grasp.
COYS
No ifs, no buts, Spurs need to go to

This was so facking predictable. Never change sandy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What`s predictable about saying my football team may win a game of football. I assume you never think your team will ever win a game then. It`s 11 v 11, anything could happen, nothing is ever written in stone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's predictable because you have gone through your usual cycle of doom and gloom and saying Spurs won't win another game this season, to saying you could win away to one of the best teams in the world and the form team in the league because you beat Leicester.
Anything can happen obviously, but your swaying from one extreme to the other is amusing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
LOL Liverpool supporters were saying much the same when they lost six home games on the bounce last season. It is not unusual for supporters to have opinions that go from doom and gloom to elation, and vice versa. Name me a set of supporters who are not like that after a few wins or a few losses.

It's over....we had it in our own hands....and Suprise suprise we bottled it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arsenal were about about nine points ahead six weeks ago so did we really? People overusing bottled it really is boring
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Edbo, agreed. Arsenal apparently are the form team, having won their last three, and picked up nine points from six games, whereas Spurs are bottling it, and have picked up 10 points from six games.
Arsenal may sneak it on the back of Spurs having one poor result against Brighton, but they are not that great, so don`t be surprised if Spurs still pip them to 4th.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Neither Arsenal nor Tottenham would have expected to finish top 4 this season as Chelsea were seen as title contenders and United having recruited Sancho, Varane and Ronaldo would have been expecting to finish top 4 as a minimum whilst being in the title race too.
One of the two sides will finish top 4 and that will be an excellent achievement. I don't buy into the idea that whoever it is doesn't deserve it "for being the best of the rest of a bad bunch". The league will play out as it does and the team who gets 4th will deserve it.
Neither team will win the CL next year but that doesn't mean that neither are ready to play in it or don't deserve to be in it so should just be in the Europa League instead.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course whoever finishes 4th will deserve it, I just don’t think it is much of an accomplishment this year. City and Liverpool are miles above the rest. Chelsea have had a tumultuous season but will still finish 3rd.
United have had their worst season in a long time - they failed to beat Watford this season in two attempts - in fact they were battered 4-1 at Vicarage road and Watford have lost all 11 of their subsequent home games. Yet they will finish no worse than 6th.
West Ham have had to utilise the same 16 players all season and have had 3 decent cup run, still in Europe of course. They are knackered but likely to come 7th.
The league is soooo poor outside the top 2 that I just dont think either Spurs or Arsenal should be too excited about finishing 4th this season, both will have a much harder time next season

Yeah but will we do the double on Man City, take a point off Liverpool and do the double on a free spending Newcastle.
CL will help whoever gets it, and whoever gets it will deserve it. My only point is that outside the top 2 the league is dire, a load of inconsistent, average teams - Arsenal in 4th are 20 points behind City in 1st

Of course they should be, neither expected to be top 4 this season so it will be a very good achievement for either side to get there.
The top 2 are pretty much the best two teams in the world, just because the rest aren't up to their standard, it doesn't make them poor. West Ham are in the semis of the Europa and Leicester the ECL and there have been some decent sides across Europe in both competitions. Are we essentially saying unless you're Liverpool or City then you're average at best?

Yep, this touched on the obvious summer narrative that Spurs "bottled it again" if they do end up 5th. Truth is Spurs are only as close as they are because Arsenal "bottled it" by letting a giant lead slip.
Obviously Arsenal don't "bottle it" because they are still ( after a decade ) still "a young teams" who are "developing"

Has anyone said this over the last decade other than this season? The reality is for the last 10 years we have been spending more on older players who are ready made in an attempt to bridge the gap quickly and it hasn't worked so we've gone the other way especially buying a younger group of players last summer who were 21-23 to offset some of the other youngsters we already had.
