I suspect the awful Brighton and Brentford games are going to live very long in our memories….

No chance we win at Anfield. None. Whatsoever.

We just have to hope that Leeds can snatch a draw at the emirates so we can go into the NLD 3 points behind.

It's over....we had it in our own hands....and Suprise suprise we bottled it.

Of course you can win, you've beat City already BUT the odds are against you as Liverpool are still chasing the title and are a superior team

That's no slight on Spurs, they're better than damn near all the other teams by a distance as well atm but you're best chance is that Arsenal drop points in other games and you win the NLD

Leeds are in serious danger of going down...

You’d think they’d try their utmost..

I can only see Newcastle getting any points against Arsenal, as they are at home...

Seems like Arsenal can also send Everton down on the last day of the season...

Arsenal have beaten Chelsea, Man Utd & West Ham in successive games. I thought they would pick up 6 points max... likely 4 or 5 in reality... not 9!!!

Maybe they deserve Champions League on that alone...

That's a very fair perspective all the teams in and around the top 6,7 have dropped silly points all season but those 3 wins are huge for them

We’re going to lose to Liverpool - put your mortgage on it.

However, if we can beat Arsenal, Burnley and Norwich then I think we will make it on GD as I suspect Newcastle will avoid defeat at home to Arsenal - that is a horribly tough game for them now after the NLD.

It starts with us though - we have to beat them next week

Spurs have picked up 10 points from their last six matches. Arsenal have picked up nine points from their last six matches. So not sure Arsenal deserve it any more than Spurs.

Liverpool have a midweek European semi final, eventually I suspect all these games will start to catch up on them, so maybe Spurs, if they bring their A game could win.

Not necessarily Sandy. If we lose to Liverpool and then win the other three, if Arsenal so much as draw either of their final two games away to Newcastle or home to a battling Everton, 4th is ours. Not done even if we lose as we surely will against Liverpool.

I think all teams can point to games they should have won. Didn`t Arsenal lose three on the bounce to Southampton, Palace etc to let Spurs back into the top four race.

In truth Spurs should not be anywhere near top four.

I agree, but Spurs must not just write off the Liverpool game. As I said if you want to mix it with the big boys, then you have to act like one.

I want to see a serious performance next Saturday at Anfield. No just sitting back, that won`t work. They have to give as good as they get.

Actually technically it’s not a given we get it under those circumstances. Depends on the goal difference. As long as we don’t get tonked 7-0 by Liverpool we should be alright for goal difference, particularly if we beat Arsenal.

It’s definitely true that all teams can point to ‘easy points dropped’ etc. but to be so close and have it all in our hands and then throw it away without a fight….

We could still recover and grab 4th, but it’s unlikely.

I think you will give Liverpool a game but I don’t see a scenario where Liverpool won’t win knowing they have to keep the pressure on city. Also let’s get some perspective you’ve beaten a second string Leicester today who I think could have taken something had they started their strongest side. Still all to play for but watching you at Brentford makes me think you’re average.

Beating Arsenal is an absolute must, do that and I think we will make it. We will get to play Burnley at home first, who I reckon we will scrape a hard fought win against. That will leave Arsenal needing a win at SJP - I can’t see that happening, Newcastle’s last home game of the season and they are fairly decent now, I fancy a draw.

That would leave us needing to win away at Norwich to make top 4.

It’s definitely not over, and I still fancy us to do this

Don’t think it’ll all rest on next weekend. Even if you lose to Liverpool and we beat Leeds, I think a lot could change in the last 3 games after the NLD. We have Newcastle and Everton you’ve got Norwich and Burnley, Newcastle are in great form and Everton could be fighting for their lives. Same with Burnley, Norwich are gone so that should be easy for you. This could easily come down to the last game

Average teams don't win home and away against the best team in the country, Man City.

Not trying to convince anyone. As I said average teams don't beat City hone and away.

Spurs are above average, and will finish with 70 points, which clearly is not average.

posted on 1/5/22

If Arsenal beat Everton and Leeds with a draw against Newcastle and finish on 70, will Spurs still be above average with Arsenal only very average?

Ok, and when Arsenal finish above 70 points, does that make us not 'average' too yeah?

Even if we go to Klanfield and play well, we won`t get any points, the authorities decided long ago that Varpool must be dragged into a title race, so no referee is going to allow any dropped points for the Saltypudlians.

Quite simple, let’s DO Liverpool don’t think beyond that. It is not as if we are playing one of those teams that need to shut up shop. We have the players to harm them and we can fight them tooth and nail if we turn up! They need to win and that suits, respect them yes, fear them NO. God help us with the ref though, he always seems to make the difference! COYS I believe.
