Reports coming from Sky Sports that the Djed Spence transfer is pretty close now. If that’s the case and everything falls into place like it should then we would have signed 6 players before the S Korea tour with possibly more to come.
The owners are often (rightfully) criticised on these boards and Paratici didn’t exactly cover himself in glory with his first window, but since then we had an absolutely brilliant January transfer and this summer the one thing that manager wanted was an improved squad and the majority of his players in before pre-season which the club have delivered so massive credit for that..
Of the signings I’d say Perisic, Bissouma and Richarlison are brilliant buys, Spence is one for the future and Forster is nothing to be excited about but we needed a back keeper and he’s home grown so decent enough. Lenglet is the one I don’t get as he’s been poor for a long time, but happy to be proven wrong.
It’s been an excellent summer so far and long may it continue.

In Conte’s system, WB is where most of the attacking threat comes from. Arguably the most important positions and we’re buying a kid who hasn’t done that much in the Championship.
I’d say a 50mil RWB is more important than Richarlason

Good player. But not good enough for a team aiming for the top end of the PL.

Yeah good enough for Southampton/Villa type perhaps. But he ultimately done nothing when in English football up to 23. 7 years now at Rangers with just the 2 trophies, in a two team league.

It's been a great window so far. We've got signings in early in an organised fashion, and they've been good, established players, 3 already with PL experience.
Finally Levy doing what he should have done ages back.

If we get our money back on Royal that will be a very good outcome. With Doherty first choice and then Spence as a squad player. Spence will still get plenty of games and helps with homegrown numbers.

Probably! It would fit with his pattern of going against the grain for the sake of it. If it doesn't work out with Conte and he leaves in a year or two, Sandy can smugly claim to have been right all along.

If you get Spence, he’ll be a wonderful addition to your team - and a amazing player, skill, electric speed and can score a goal or two
The only thing he’ll need is good man management and guidance - he could easily go off the rails if not looked after properly - you really need Contento step up in that department
Apart from that - he’ll be a great player for you guys
