Very good so far. My one gripe is for RWB we're buying Spence, an unproven kid. Imo for such an important position we should have gone for a first X1 player.

That 'kid' was a major factor in Nottm Forest getting promoted from the championship after over 20 years in the wilderness.
So the 'hasn't done that much in the championship' isn't exactly true is it?
Liverpool spent £8m on Robertson from a relegated Hull....turned out ok.
I read somewhere that Conte wants to keep both Doherty & Emerson, so maybe Spence will be 3rd choice

Danny rose Kyle walker and trippier have been our best wing backs|full backs in recent years and none of them were big money signings.
Kyle Walker was bought from Championship side Sheffield United and 'was a kid who hasn’t done that much in the Championship'.
Yes. It’s been a very refreshing window so far. Something some of us have wanted to see us do for ages. Be aggressive in the market and sign players before pre season. So happy Conte is being backed. We are looking very strong.

I think there’s a couple of things here. First not many amazing RWB on the market at the moment and we aren’t gonna prize someone like Hakimi away from PSG. Spence works well in terms of his price and the fact that he’s homegrown and also not necessarily a first choice which I don’t think is the worst thing as Matt Doherty was more than decent when he started being deployed properly by Conte.

I think home grown is key.
I'd also say that Doherty's development has gone through time under Conte, not that he wasnt being used properly, just that it takes a bit of time and confidence to understand his role. He had looked proper shiiiit at RB so he had to be built up from a low base. I couldnt see a footballer in him at all and the first i wanted gone, now i'm happy for him to stay.

Yeah good enough for Southampton/Villa type perhaps. But he ultimately done nothing when in English football up to 23. 7 years now at Rangers with just the 2 trophies, in a two team league.

It's been a great window so far. We've got signings in early in an organised fashion, and they've been good, established players, 3 already with PL experience.

If we get our money back on Royal that will be a very good outcome. With Doherty first choice and then Spence as a squad player. Spence will still get plenty of games and helps with homegrown numbers.

Probably! It would fit with his pattern of going against the grain for the sake of it. If it doesn't work out with Conte and he leaves in a year or two, Sandy can smugly claim to have been right all along.
If you get Spence, he’ll be a wonderful addition to your team - and a amazing player, skill, electric speed and can score a goal or two
The only thing he’ll need is good man management and guidance - he could easily go off the rails if not looked after properly - you really need Contento step up in that department
Apart from that - he’ll be a great player for you guys
