Evening all,
I’ve joined a last man standing comp that a friend is running, essentially you pick a PL team that has to win that week to keep in the comp and can’t choose the team more than once. Tenner to enter, whoever makes it the furthest takes the whole pot.
There’s 40 people playing. I chose Spurs for the first game, a lot of people went on Liverpool or Leicester and already the fields been halved going into week two.
Here’s this weeks fixtures, who would you go for (bear in mind week three looks pretty tricky to predict), would you go for the obvious and go for a big gun like us or Liverpool or go a bit more risky and keep those for later?
Aston Villa vs. Everton
Arsenal vs. Leicester City
Brighton vs. Newcastle
Man City vs. Bournemouth
Southampton vs. Leeds
Wolves vs. Fulham
Brentford vs. Man United
Nottingham Forest vs. West Ham
Chelsea vs. Tottenham
Liverpool vs. Crystal Palace
I’m pretty sure who I’m going for already but interested how others would play it

Don't ask me, I picked Liverpool first game.
I had Spurs initially but thought I'd play it safe.

Spurs at home to Saints was the banker of the weekend. Spurs finished last season like a train, scoring for fun, Southampton were awful second half of last season and are arguably the worst team outside the promoted teams - and promoted teams often pull a shock on opening day meaning Saints were the likeliest team to be handed a defeat.

12:30 Saturday fixtures are notorious accy killers, so avoid big teams in them as well!

I thought so too but talked myself into Liverpool as the first week can throw up strange results and thought Liverpool would hammer Fulham. Normally I take risks by leaving myself the big teams and I've done quite well, City beat me last season the week before the last. Think it was on the 13th week or something.

Went Spurs week 1, nearly went Leicester. This week i'm going for Liverpool so I can't lose as I either make round 3 or Klopp gets a stropp
