There does seem to be some legs to this one unfortunately.
It’s probably a signing I’d have got excited in the past but not anymore. It just seems like deja vu.
Casemiro has been an excellence holding midfielder but he’s 30 now and will want huge wages. He’s just another player coming for one of his last big pay days.
He’s a great ball winner but fairly limited on the ball. That’s all well and good when you have 2 of the best ball playing midfielders of the past decade either side of you in Modric and Kroos but it’s a different story when you have Bruno and McTominay/Fred beside you squandering possession.
You’ll get the usual cliches thrown around ‘better than what we have’ or ‘a he’s a winner’ etc.
How many ‘winners’ have Pep and Klopp signed? Do we really think a 5 time CL winner is gonna be bothered when thing aren’t going well?
Another big mistake and I hope it falls through. I’d rather see Garner get game time.

It doesn’t really matter because he’s not going to get the job.
Conte would have rage quite months ago anyway.

I don't think there's even any question. He'd actually be locked up for murder by now if he'd had to deal with our elite transfer negotiation team.

I think he’d have killed Martial before it even got to January.

People said that about Levy but Conte tamed him like a rescue golden retriever. I’m sure he’d have Richard Arnold eating out of his manicured hands.
The irony here is that we may actually see Ten Hag rage quit soon (wouldn’t blame him tbf) 😹

I wasn't comparing varane to casemero, just saying varane was in the same club, won it all, top player, and he's been a waste of money so far.
People mentioning age as well.
Wasn't Bastien schweinstiger(?) 30 when he joined us, and he was hilariously bad.
Fans are right in questioning the move as we have been let down by similar big name big name over 30 player purchases for a very long time.
Calling anyone an idiot for being slightly paranoid about this deal isn't fair really, can you blame us for having these thoughts considering our track record?

There must be a reason that a top club such as real are happy to see one of the supposed best players in the world in his position leave, no?

I’m not the biggest fan of the Casemiro deal and think it’s probably a bad idea but he’s a lot less broken than Bastian was when he joined us. The German was literally a walking treatment room.

Yeah pointless comparison. And Madrid want to keep him.

Fair enough.

Him getting an offer from a club and deciding to consider it, and the club letting him leave is not the same as ‘Madrid booting him out because he’s no longer good enough’ or ‘Madrid happy to let him go’.
