Someone tell me what I’m missing here:
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/aug/29/arsenal-four-games-four-wins-four-fans-on-the-gunners-flying-start
This is a national newspaper, salivating over a team who has won four games in a row against:
Crystal Palace
Leicester
Bournemouth
Fulham
Now, I’m not knocking a team for winning any game of football, even four against middling to poor teams - it’s not always easily done.
But, an article discussing fans opinions on their chances of winning the league before the end of August? Come on, behave. This is the same team who had top four in the hands, twice, messing up against both Spurs and Newcastle. The same team who towards the end of last season won five on the bounce, only to then lose four of their next five against Liverpool, Palace, Brighton and Southampton.
Let’s face it, this is a team that is one result from a disaster, a fan base that goes from one extreme to another on a whim.
So, we’ll done Arsenal. 100% and top of the table.
But, tell me I’m wrong. Same old predictable Arsenal, or now title challengers?
Arsenal

Reminder that Fulham are a good team. Lots of teams will struggle against them.

I see Fulham beat Brighton. They are a different proposition under Silva than last time with Parker in charge

Mitrovic seems to have gone up a level too. People will continue to underrate him because of how poor he was previously, but he will cause problems for plenty of teams.

Fulham would be top if they had beaten us #easieststartever
I note Chelsea lost again to a relegation favourite, while Wolves are yet to win. #impossiblytoughstart.
Doesn't get any easier for Spurs tonight, as they face a team with 1 goal in 4 games and have 3 points. Arsenal, though, have a walkover against a team with 3 points.
The thing I am noticing here is that Spurs fans think every game is tough for Spurs, but easy for Arsenal. Spurs fans seem to rate Arsenal very highly

Yes, your 38 games are harder than ours.

This kind of statement does my head in, it allows for no context and life is not black and white.
Some context for you;
1. A kind fixture list allows to build confidence which is key in football.
2. Momentum is also huge, going on a winning run right before playing a top team is vital.
3. Playing teams at the right time when they are in dissaray (i.e. Bournemouth who have just sacked their manager) vs playing them when they hit some form
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, you got Chelsea at a good time and after a gimmie start 👍
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Chelsea and Westham away is never getting them at a good point because they always turn up against us regardless of form, so that’s a pointless statement

As I said, all games are easy for Arsenal, all games are impossibly difficult for Spurs and every win for you is an amazing achievement.

Not really, you just had a pi** easy start. I’d be disappointed if we didn’t win all 4. Everyone waxing lyrical about Arsenal like they are some powerhouse because you beaten cannon fodder

🤣🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣😅
Every article about Spurs says about a title challenge. Every article about Arsenal talks about breaking into the top 4. Yet all Spurs have done is beat cannon fodder and snatch a late draw against a woeful Chelsea.

Its pointless arguing with them...we're just flat track bullies in their eyes...even though we beat Man U, CFC away and Spurs last season, with a worse team
As u said, if we beat anyone, its due to timing, them being chit/easy, ref help, luck, take your pick.

How is palace away on a Friday night a p*ss easy start?
Liverpool have played 3 of the same teams as us, we got 9 points, they got 5.
Spurs fans are taking this a little too seriously and a little too far. I don't know any gooner in real life that thinks we're winning the league.
