She's the mother of the country. Big loss.
One of those people that you thought would just always be there.

There is a valid point in there. What if someone today just said I am your ruler now and you they request to sit on a gold thrown and wear a gold hat? You'd be like fack off mate.
Or someone comes along and says they are the son of christ and you should listen to them. Again, fack off mate.
Just because things have been a certain way for ages when people were less educated and informed, does not mean it should be that way forever.
A good mental exercise is to think about starting a civilisation from scratch today. Would you have an imaginary guy in the sky? Someone sitting on a gold throne? It is unlikely. At some point you need to move on for the better.

Far too simplistic
The monarchy goes back 1,000 years and is linked to many events in English and British history; the Norman Conquest, Wars of the Roses, English Civil War
It’s what makes the country do interesting historically and helps attract millions of tourists each year. Besides, you only need watch on the news when they interview people about the Queen, she’s adored and that helps bring in the tourists

Besides, you only need watch on the news when they interview people about the Queen, who were killed by the British Empire. They don't even complain. They are silent.

A lot more emotional than some privileged old lady passing.

Actually really interesting. Although it did leave me thinking that it was just how it was back then and who are we to question it. Hitler actually created a lot of history for Germany and brings in millions of tourists a year. Something to be celebrated. His victims will probably complain (if they were alive) but the traditions of Germany are more important to me. I mean Britain.

It's always sad whenever some1 dies, but it's a natural process of life, and being from a previous common wealth country and whose ancestors had to forgth for freedom then yh, some of us will see it as just life process and not dwell too much on it, sorry for my openness

This. It was like when Jimmy Saville died and lots of people made disrespectful jokes, completely forgetting how much money he raised for charity.
