On Saturday Wolves welcome Manchester City to Molineux.
Wolves did the double over city in 2019 but have lost all 4 league games since, the last one being a 5-1 tonking at Molineux.
Hopefully, newly signed veteran striker Diego Costa will be available for this game. Wolves’ forwards have been criticised for being shy in front of goal and not taking their chances to score. No-one can accuse Costa of being shy and hopefully he will prove that he has still “got it" when it comes to goal scoring.
City also have a handy striker who has found the net 10 times in their six games this season. City have won 4 of those games and drawn the other 2. They are currently 2nd in the league, 1 point off the top. It will be interesting to see how Bruno Lage's preferred centre back pairing of Kilman and Collins cope with Haaland. it will certainly be their toughest test to date.
The game will be shown live on BT Sport 1
Gem’s prediction: 1-2

Although I would not want him to get injured.

2) Lage’s Wolves pack looks thin at both ends
Watching a free-scoring Manchester City side rack up another three goals en route to victory must have felt something of a tease for Bruno Lage, given Wolves have managed that many across all seven of their league games so far. Summer signing Sasa Kalajdzic faces months out with a serious knee injury, Raúl Jiménez is also sidelined, Gonçalo Guedes is yet to score following his arrival from Valencia and Diego Costa may only be fit enough for the bench against West Ham after the international break. If Wolves’ bluntness is a concern, so too is the incoming three-match suspension for centre-back Nathan Collins. Wolves allowed Conor Coady to join Everton and now appear light in defence. Lage could not hide his irritation following the defeat, insisting that he wanted both a striker and a centre-back before the transfer window deadline. Wolves have problems to solve in both boxes.

Write up in one of the papers, seems every man and his dog recognises our issues except for a couple on here.

One of our forwards that doesn’t score many is Neto. In fact he’s only scored 12 in his 108 game professional career so far with 2020/21 his best season with 5
Surprised therefore to read some stats today that showed Almiron of Newcastle has had more touches in the opposition penalty area than any player in the Premier League. Mitrovic of Fulham is second and Neto third. But of course Pedro hasn’t yet scored this season. I suspect most of his touches have been on the edge or the side of the area rather than in front of goal from where most goals are scored. But at least it shows he is getting involved in the final third

Neto gets to the byline quite a bit

He has been disappointing overall this season. Still some flashes but not like before. In part i don't think the position he is playing suits him best though.

Diego Costa and Adama Traore are now in full training with the first team squad. Costa is thought to be ready for a place on the bench at West Ham next week while Adama would be fit to start if selected

Disappointed to read that the u21 fixture against Porto due to be played on Sept 30 has been postponed for what’s described as scheduling reasons

Son and Hwang both scored for Korea today but they could only draw 2-2 with Costa Rica
