Away from Spurs and the Prem

for a bit. Doing a bit of research, and I think I can safely say that the Scottish Prem is just about the most boring and predictable league in world football. You have to go back to season 1984-85 to the last time a club outside of Rangers or Celtic won the league.

It is definitely a cure for insomnia, boring, uncompetitive, low quality as proved by the pumpings both Rangers and Celtic are getting in the CL, home and away.

Does anyone actually enjoy watching the Scottish Prem?

so you did a lot of research then

Wiki - Scottish PL winners

a 3 year old could do that tbh

So what other research did you do?

Sounds like you just done it.

TBF the Scottish PL does not have the money that goes into the PL. It also contains the auld firm derby which is the biggest in Britain. It may not match the quality of the PL but the intensity is just as high
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not the biggest in Great Britain at all. It gets smaller crowds than most London Derbies.

Two clubs that are equivalent to the local dog and duck in England.

Im not sure this article is particularly fair

there have been 2 leagues over the last decade that have only had 1 winner in each of the last 10 seasons ; germany (bayern munich) and bulgaria (ludogorets).

nobody ever calls the bundesliga boring

----------------------------------------------------------------------

That`s as maybe, but both of those countries have had several title winners over the same period that Rangers and Celtic have shared the league between them.

And let`s be fair I have only gone back over 37 years of the Scottish League. You could say that over the last 60 years, Rangers and Celtic have won probably 55 leagues between them. The competition is so bad, what is the point of it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree but how would Spurs on anyone else do with 1% of what they get from Sky today?

And don’t confuse richer with bigger.

They were dominating long before Sky turned up. And those two clubs trouser all the money available in Scotland, giving you a massive advantage. So no different really to Sky.

The money we trouser is due to the large fan base and season ticket holders. The TV money for the whole league is £30m - winner 17%, bottom 4.5% - that £3.75m difference does not explain the gap but it overall explains why the competition is so bad.

The old firm derby's rivalry has little to do with football and or city rivalry.
