A couple of times after the match the BT sports cameras panned over to Top and Rudkin. At one point top shook his head with folded arms watching the TV monitor he has access to. He could have been watching the Maddison dive and disagreeing or he could have been shaking his head at the performance, hard to know.
One thing struck me at the final whistle. Rudkin stood there looking clueless as usual but Top looked like a broken man. He just stood there, staring at the pitch with an expression somewhere between worry and hopelessness. He looked like someone who knows he’s royally facked up and doesn’t have a clue what to do next. Worrying times

If you booed or chanted at the end today, Top heard you.
If you held up a banner, he saw you.
But it is a decision he really doesn’t want to make.
He wants to give Rodgers every chance he can. #LCFC

I mean, what on earth would it take at this point?

He’s a mug. He thinks it’s 2014/15 again and we can do the great escape. What he hasn’t figured is that we no longer have a 28 year old Vardy, Mahrez, Cambiasso and a peak Kasper Schmeichel.
He’s totally bought into the Rodgers hype train and it’s his utter naivety that has landed us in this mess, both from a financial and a footballing perspective. When we’re relegated, he will be solely to blame - not Rodgers

And what I mean by that is Rodgers has and continues to be completely enabled by Top and the board. They’re an embarrassment

It's just tedious at this point. It's not even about the club finances, despite what we thought; Top loves Brendan and will only sack him when he really, really, REALLY has to.
It's like a toxic relationship - "I'm giving him one more chance" "he's promised me he's changed, you'll see" "we had too many amazing moments to let this go" "but when things improve he'll be back to his best". Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be anyone whispering in Top's ear the one thing he really needs to hear; "it's over".
The longer this goes on, the more I think Top just needs to sell up or get someone competent in to do his job. Oh well. Championship here we come.

I’m running out of patience with Top who is responsible for the limbo this club finds itself in. He’s a shadow of his father I have to say who let’s be honest would never have let things get to this point
It seems Mersey has it wrong (as have I on many occasions) - the expression on the face of Top was indeed the look of a man who doesn’t want to make a decision and won’t do anytime soon. We’ve had it - and Top has thrown away everything his dad built

Yep, certainly looks that way 99.
That Leeds game is looking massive now.

Is it? I’m not sure it is. I don’t think it makes any difference. We thought the Brighton game was massive. The spurs game. The Bournemouth game. Todays game. Doesn’t seem to make any difference when you’ve got an owner who can’t make a decision. I expect he’ll stay even beyond Leeds

Yep. Another crucial 'must-win' game that we don't win and absolutely nothing changes.

I just want to win 😭

We were unlikely to win against Leeds with Madders; having got himself suspended unnecessarily almost guarantees that.
I'm going to try and be positive from yesterday in part, at least we kept a clean sheet, albeit against a poor Palace side who were about as devoid of attacking intent as we were.
There was a telling moment for me in the first half whilst looking at yesterday's loss of two points. One of our players, not sure which, maybe Daka, got the ball in their half of the pitch during a brief period of broken play; he was facing our goal but had an opportunity to look and turn with attacking intent whilst some of the Palace players were still in our half. What he did however was try and pass the ball through the Palace players to our back line.
That action is not natural for an attacking player, it can only have come from obsessive coaching/instructions to retain the ball at all costs, in other words from the Manager. The resultant poor pass which gave the ball away to Palace in a dangerous position is almost incidental.
Can Rodgers not see that this drive for possession as an end just gives time for the opposition to get into a perfect defensive formation? Presumably not.
I do not usually call for the Manager to go, but I find it difficult to disagree with anybody who wants that at present.
Top needs to take action, if the stories around a couple of weeks ago are true ie that Brendan needed to get 6 points from the last 3 matches - well he's failed to do that so maybe we'll hear an announcement today or tomorrow. I wouldn't hold your breath in anticipation though.
I doubt Captain Rodgers would still be steering RMS TitanicFoxes at full speed towards the relegation iceberg if Vichai were still around.
