Walker's positioning on the pitch is different though...more often than not he's the right side of the back 3.

He times his ovelaps quite well though

hes often beat easily too or makes a mistake, he has one top asset though, insane recovery speed. Its not so much hes an outstanding defender, far from it.

Recovery pace or not Walker is a way better defender than Trent and Cancelo.

Lets face it, hes been that good that people have to find a stick to Trent with and go over the top with it. A lot of it is how hes asked to play too if we're honest. This is probably the second time since bursting onto the scene at 18 hes been in poor form but the first time where in his defence the entire team has been awful too and have done him no favours.

Hes what 24? still 4/5 years off a defenders peak age. Needs to improve in attitude imo ive seen him show he can defend well multiple times but thats rarely highlighted when he does. However he doesnt show the same attitude and desire to defend as he does attack. He could certainly react faster to get back in position for example and be more aggressive in defending.

Ive seen Walker and RJ cost their teams including England but its never mentioned, certainly not to the extent it is with Trent. And these guys play in teams with much more protection than trent gets in liverpools at rb.

TAA weakness is in other areas of defending. You're confusing him with Maguire, the English Baresi.

I’ve seen quite a bit of criticism of Cancelo. Most things I’ve read have been more praising of Alisson and Salah though so you can’t really have both to an extreme.

Too bad that's actually great news for Liverpool and who cares anyway? Scouse not English I hope Walker goes and plays every game with all the knockouts going into extra time. Wish it was possible for both Walker and Reece James to play every game. Have at it.
