I believe that we have very challenging times ahead and very challenging due to our owners.
Are comes in, we have decent season with Monk, Monk exits at the idea of Orta.
We appoint an over his head TC (I liked him) based on a powerpoint.
TC gets no support (remember the "Ask Victor" answers re transfers) and is sacked after dreadful Jan window.
We appoint the awful Heck who has to take team to Myanmar before getting sacked.
We then appoint Bielsa (why we didn't appoint him after Monk, who knows), and Bielsa proves many of us wrong and stays for longest he's ever stayed.
Gets us promoted, not a high net spend (sound familiar), selling Roof and Jansson along the way, but already we see huge influx of young players who just never make it and are a complete waste of time and resources and take up academy place ahead of home grown talent.
Bielsa proves to be the ultimate yes man.
Never complains about the board, doesn't demand we buy loads of players.
So happy he stayed for second season and third and really thought we would kick on.
I said when he was sacked, whomever takes the job next is stupid.
Stupid because they have such a hard act to follow, stupid because anyone coming after cult hero like Bielsa will always be a poor shadow, stupid because the players perform for the Bielsa style but were generally average in other styles of play.
The club go for another unemployed managerial option and one that for 2 years have been keen about.
He did the business in keeping us up, and we were told don't expect to see his style there, lets just get the job done.
We did business early and we replaced our star players with meh.
Completely understand manager goes back to known players (Bielsa didn't though), but just like the manager, they're not experienced at this level.
Salzburg bought the league and therefore CL qualification, pretty much every season.
The way TC, Heck and Bielsa were treated should serve to show you all you need to know about the integrity of our owners.
Having a mix of owners makes it even harder to get consensus and all we hear is that 49ers have taught us so much.
What have they taught us?
How to put up prices?
How to make it hard for people to get tickets fairly?
What value have they brought exactly, because it certainly isn't transfer funds or football expertise.
Anyway, I digress, Marsch wasn't ready for the appointment, the timing was a surprise for him, which means it was a knee jerk reaction by the owners and unfortunately in AR and Orta we have two individuals who are far too emotional in their decisions and behaviour, just look at Orta kicking in a monitor, he is an emotional imbecile when it comes to professional behaviour.
Temper the board's lack of appetite to spend money on players, with really poor decisions making of choice of players AND a complete and utter blindspot regarding the lack of ability of our left back and the risk of not being able to score goals and the promises of "we've learnt" after last season's last day great escape from relegation sound very, very hollow.
So we bring in most players relatively early, Kinnear will tell us they're all world class, but anyone can see that we're a mediocre Prem side at best and I for one firmly believe that none of our new players, Sinisterra excepted would be coveted by other Prem teams.
One would hope that someone in our ownership would see some of these factors, understand that the road ahead would not be easy for Marsch and ensure that he is given as much support as possible.
I love the fact that Marsch is so family oriented, and I'm sure the move to Leeds is tied into that, with his daughter in Scotland.
He's taken a huge career gamble in coming to us and whether he is over his head or not, if he is given a 3 1/2 year contract, he needs support from board at time like this.
I would get all board together with Marsch for a presser and reiterate that he has the support AND articulate some sort of plan, because all I have heard really for this season is that it is to stay up and if tight truly is the extent of our ambition then we cannot keep calling ourselves a massive club.
Let's be clear, I don't believe Marsch is right man for us, BUT he has 3.5 year contract we can't just knee jerk at first sign off trouble.
continued.....
We need to dig in.

Too many mind boggling mistakes from Marsch.
Yesterday some of the isolated incidences observed were like what you see from a pub team.
- bamford not ready to come on as a sub. First touch kicks in straight out for a Fulham throw.
- 3 centre backs in our team yet the biggest aerial threat in England is marked by our right back!!!!!
- a corner for us results in a 1-on-1 from 60 metres out for Fulham.
- Summerville comes on and in playing on the left. Harrison who has been excellent on the left this season and shocking on the right/middle is left to play on the right.
Generally the tactics are not working
- Takes us 20-25 passes to get behind a defence down the flanks. Takes opposition 1-2 passes.
- Press is disjointed and leaves us fragile
- Players look under-trained and nowhere near the fitness levels under Marsch
- Substitutions we make are often strange and generally we get worse.
For me the one mistake that still stands out as utterly mind blowing was is decision to not bring on substitutes away at Southampton on that hot day to counter the home sides fresh legs. He cost us 2 points that day.
Takes me back to Heckingbottom appointing Eunan O'Kane as captain in his first game. The same O'Kane who had just been sent off for headbutting an Ipswich Town player. Hecky was the first manager i wanted sacking before a ball had even been kicked - so obvious it was never going to work! Unfortunately when i observe what i would consider as mistakes seen down at the local wreck then it appears that Marsch is a mile off from being good enough.

So all England fans voting for Kalvin as best England player at Euros is a figment of my imagination?

We've bought ok, just not enough.
Sinisterra is another good find I'm very happy with. We may have got rid of our two best players but that's not really saying all that much. Both overrated by our fan base
It's just Jessie's not the man, never thought he was but like you say jonty, impossible act to follow.
We must stay up, going down well knock any future plans massively. I think we can with this team. Just not with this manager.
It wasn't by his managerial expertise we stayed up last year.

Really??? Literally never heard anyone say they were overatted.

there's always one.

OP - agreed to a limit. Judge him (Jesse) on the next 4 games and then, if he’s still failing, he has to go.

Well Jonty it looks like JM is here to stay and Radz and Co are digging in with the belief that our luck will change plus 3 new January additions so adios Jack Harrison.
TBH I don't think you can play Sinisterra, Aaronson and Harrison in the same team.
Against Liverpool I would like to see Klich brought into midfield with Roca and Adams holding and then Aaronson and Sinisterra on the wings and Rodrigo up top.
That way we'll at least keep the scoreline respectable and then against Bournemouth and Spurs we could get 4 points before the World Cup break.

I think I'd go with 2 banks of 4 (all defenders) and leave Harrison and Sinisterra on the half way line waiting to latch on to a long ball. No playing out from the back whatsoever.

Worth remembering of course that our sage of an owner said it was impossible for us to go down. Nothing to worry about eh Radz?
