continued....

If we're going to get rid of him, it has to be because board think that despite his ability to keep us up last season, that with 30+ games to go this season he can't keep us up.

Kinnear has just told us trajectory is up, Arsenal performance is best since our return to Prem, Firpo is world class.

Kinnear has also told us we're not going to sign players that would hinder the massive talents coming through from Academy.

Those talents in Summerville, Greenwood and Gelhardt, supplemented by Gnonto have to deliver. They have to deliver this season or we're down.

Bamford has to be given support and time, or we're down.

Sacking Marsch now gets us where exactly?

We have to pay shed loads of compensation and we have to find another, out of work manager who can work with a mediocre squad, no transfer budget and keep us up.

That manager will be out there, but we'll have gone from world renowned Bielsa to a Sam Allardyce type character and with such egotistical characters like AR and Orta running these decisions, I'm not sure how that will work at all.

At what point do the 49ers think they've seen enough?

I have no idea how it works with managers in American football and so what experience they bring to bear, I believe that they rely totally on Orta and that is a very risky strategy.

I've been really harsh on Marsch calling him stupid, but he's been sold a lemon by the board and when you're out of work and a job with a big club in the Prem comes up, you justify why its the right decision, but following Bielsa is incredibly tough.

Fans singing for him to be sacked do not help, he really needs our support, kicking him when he's down in public will not give him the best chance of success.

I completely understand it, especially after whet we've experienced last couple of years but in public it cant happen, not even ire towards the board, for they then take it out on the manager and the cycle starts again.

If we can't even bring in Gnonto without having to ship out a player, then it's going to be really hard to pay Marsch compensation and pay for a new managerial team AND provide any sort of transfer funds in Jan.

I don't know the solution right now, but I know he needs support..

Best performance since promotion?? Wow, we literally lost.

Agree about calamitous board will probably look for another out of work manager and we'll go down anyway.

I look at this squad and just think, well we shouldn't be in the premier league, who's our stand out player who could drag us to safety, there's no one.

Listen, I'm not happy about the situation at all, but we all have low times in our lives and we need support from others, not being kicked when down and Marsch is a bit of a fall guy here.

You're right, we are bang average and we only have Orta to blame for this, he cost us millions and it feels we've gone backwards.

I reckon Champ team with Woods in would beat this lot!

I agree with a lot of what your saying Jonty but although having a little bit of sympathy, I do feel that the Manager hasn't helped himself on certain aspects, the team selection against Leicester being a case in point followed by a reactive lurch opposite yesterday - as I said yesterday when a Manager starts appearing to be taking desperate measures it does not instill confidence in the fans. I dont condone booing it has a negative impact on the team and club but you can see why it happened.

These selections are from a manager out of his depth, I can understand them and you're right, it doesn't help him.

Unless the board can be really strong here, and we have no evidence form past to suggest they will be, then writing on the wall for Marsch and then what next?

Had one of world's best managers, for 3 years and yet 6 months on, it almost feels like it never happened, such is the lack of building upon legacy, this side is unrecognisable compared to what we had.

We've bought ok, just not enough.
Sinisterra is another good find I'm very happy with. We may have got rid of our two best players but that's not really saying all that much. Both overrated by our fan base
It's just Jessie's not the man, never thought he was but like you say jonty, impossible act to follow.
We must stay up, going down well knock any future plans massively. I think we can with this team. Just not with this manager.
It wasn't by his managerial expertise we stayed up last year.

All supporters overrate their own team's best players. Remember some of our supporters were saying Ayling, Harrison and Bamford should be in the England team!

I thought at the time Bielsa would have kept us up, his problem was injuries, we lived a nervous end off season last year, but that was only helped with player's returning from injury and I think Bielsa would have got more out off them than Marsch did!..

Marsch, I said at the time he wasn't long at Leipzig, he brought good player's in and got chopped, they didn't mess around but maybe that's the RB way!..

Some off my mates said he wasn't really given a proper chance, chopping him now you could say the same thing happened here, if the club did decide to bring anyone in in January then money spent paying Marsch off would be taken away from whatever might have been used!..

Too many mind boggling mistakes from Marsch.
Yesterday some of the isolated incidences observed were like what you see from a pub team.

- bamford not ready to come on as a sub. First touch kicks in straight out for a Fulham throw.
- 3 centre backs in our team yet the biggest aerial threat in England is marked by our right back!!!!!
- a corner for us results in a 1-on-1 from 60 metres out for Fulham.
- Summerville comes on and in playing on the left. Harrison who has been excellent on the left this season and shocking on the right/middle is left to play on the right.

Generally the tactics are not working
- Takes us 20-25 passes to get behind a defence down the flanks. Takes opposition 1-2 passes.
- Press is disjointed and leaves us fragile
- Players look under-trained and nowhere near the fitness levels under Marsch
- Substitutions we make are often strange and generally we get worse.

For me the one mistake that still stands out as utterly mind blowing was is decision to not bring on substitutes away at Southampton on that hot day to counter the home sides fresh legs. He cost us 2 points that day.

Takes me back to Heckingbottom appointing Eunan O'Kane as captain in his first game. The same O'Kane who had just been sent off for headbutting an Ipswich Town player. Hecky was the first manager i wanted sacking before a ball had even been kicked - so obvious it was never going to work! Unfortunately when i observe what i would consider as mistakes seen down at the local wreck then it appears that Marsch is a mile off from being good enough.

So all England fans voting for Kalvin as best England player at Euros is a figment of my imagination?

OP - agreed to a limit. Judge him (Jesse) on the next 4 games and then, if he’s still failing, he has to go.

Well Jonty it looks like JM is here to stay and Radz and Co are digging in with the belief that our luck will change plus 3 new January additions so adios Jack Harrison.

TBH I don't think you can play Sinisterra, Aaronson and Harrison in the same team.

Against Liverpool I would like to see Klich brought into midfield with Roca and Adams holding and then Aaronson and Sinisterra on the wings and Rodrigo up top.

That way we'll at least keep the scoreline respectable and then against Bournemouth and Spurs we could get 4 points before the World Cup break.

I think I'd go with 2 banks of 4 (all defenders) and leave Harrison and Sinisterra on the half way line waiting to latch on to a long ball. No playing out from the back whatsoever.
