Thought he was Superb against Leicester. Was also great against Liverpool as was Bernardo and he really is a class footballer. Our midfield is the bedrock on how we have won 4 league titles in 5 years and if we keep our heads down and don't crumble after the world cup we will win 3 in a row in May next year which is absurd.
But watching us the last few games made me think Rodri needs a runner next to him. A proper box to box midfielder who will pick up the give and goes and receive his intelligent passes. Don't get me wrong Bernardo is probably the best all-round midfielder in the league, KDB is class and Gundo is still quality although just doesn't seem to have the legs anymore but we need a box to box threat to open up teams down the middle as teams are playing real narrow against us this season and giving up the wings.
This player needs to be an athlete, a physical specimen who will drive and cause panic. We have been fortunate that we have Haaland so we win most games in 2nd gear but I fear we will come unstuck in tough games in the 2nd half of the season especially if Haaland is nullified by a good defense as we saw against Liverpool.
Its not a coincidence that Pep made those Bellingham comments. We will probably try to go for him this summer. Probably should have gone for him instead of Jack. Still think liverpool have first dibs on him and may still get him but if he changes his mind then could be the perfect Gundo and Bernardo replacement.

You only have to look at Liverpool and Spurs to see the importance of a quality midfield and how poor teams are without one. We now have the best striker in the world and the best front 3 in the PL so retaining the best midfield is essential to get the best out of them. It would be nice to get a box to box midfielder, especially if he could take penalties!
Not sure about Phillips, needs to be fit to make a judgement. If we do buy, buying well is the key and City get it right more than most, it isn't just about spending money, look at Spurs, being financially dopey they always seem to spend badly.

Easy being a City fan these days eh? Let’s just go and sign Bellingham.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We are bringing youngsters through, watch the CL against Sevilla, I expect 4 or 5 to play a part. Palmer is the one starting to get more first team games and he looks a high quality option but there are others on the production line. City will continue to buy, but not in high numbers so quality is important. Better 1 high quality than 2 poorer players for the same money. City took more in transfer fees than they spent last summer.

You'll notice Rodri's shortcomings a bit more, the more Walker is injured tbh

Think the entire team is suffering in Walkers absence. Its a pity he is now in his 30s as Pep has molded him perfectly into the player who allows us to comfortably play the highline but he may yet get too old and held back by injuries to continue in this team.

The CL Win prize money may see few changes which is irritating and our first game in Carabaro is against flipin Chelsea.
WE seem to be getting ridiculous draws lately. Couldnt blood the youth last season as we went out early and it could happen again this season.
Would love to see the youth fullbacks, palmer at least play against Sevilla. Them training with the first team is good news though.

Surely Dortmund wouldn’t have let him and Haaland leave?
