Yep, One against Russia and one against Ireland apparently

Not to the level of Rooney/Kane though, 10 goals and 15 goals each. Not that that’s a discredit to them, they’re very good penalty takers whereas Owen was generally considered crap at them just saying he’s numbers don’t include them

I love Scholes but if you're basing it on international form, it's difficult to put him in there. He retired very early too

Strange that we have picked players mainly from the golden era yet this era has been far more successful.

Yeah there's probably an element of nostalgia to it but individually the players named were / are all fantastic. Someone like Bellingham may well be in this conversation in years to come. Saka, Foden, TAA or James? Possibly too. I think England weirdly are in a bit of a transition in spite of how strong they've been. They have a lot of good young players

Agreed, plus a lot of them are in the kind of 23-30 age bracket

So they’re on the cusp of potentially making it in but not yet, probably another two-three tournaments away

And although good servants I couldn’t have the likes of Barry, Milner, Henderson, Hart, Welbeck etc In an all time team

True, not saying I didn’t rate Joe Cole for us (Chelsea) but definitely always thought England saw a better version of him than we did as one example of people who tended to do better internationally
