Someone at work was asking me about Uniteds pitch size and felt that bigger teams had trouble playing against us because the pitch was smaller. So I did a little research and found the following;
Pitch Area smallest to largest (yards2)
7700 St.Mirren
7918 Hearts
7920 Aberdeen
7920 Dun U
8165 Dunf
8250 Moth
8288 Hibs
8510 Killie
8539.2 Cel
8625 ICT
8625 St.j.
8970 Rang
Celtic were awkward and gave the pitch size in metres.
Width (narrowest to widest)
70 St.Mirren
71 Dunf
72 Aberdeen
72 Dun U
74 Hearts
74 Hibs
74 Killie
74 Cel
75 Moth
75 ICT
75 St.j.
78 Rang
And finally length (shortest to longest)
107 Hearts
110 St.Mirren
110 Aberdeen
110 Dun U
110 Moth
112 Hibs
115 Dunf
115 Killie
115 Cel
115 ICT
115 St.j.
115 Rang
So, IMO, I don't think pitch size has anything to do with one team beating another. Thoughts?

So what is the consensus here then Arabs? To me it seems that everyone is becoming more disillusioned with tactical/team decisions. Despite this we all accept that we can't sack the man due to financial constraints.
Aberdeen is a massive game and I for one am very fearful, we don't even seem to react to a bad result anymore.

Houstan out isnt the answer, aberdeen, hibs and celtic are all proof of what can happen if you dont get a decent replacement in straight away, i've not really heard anybody mehtion a replacement yet, and whos going to want the job when we sack a manage who's gave us the scots cup and 2 top 4 finishes back to back in the last 2 seasons.
Although i will admit that we do need to change the 4-5-1 especially at home, we need to get behind the team just now, theres only 4 points between bottom and 5th a couple of wins and beat falkirk in the cup and things could seem very differant.

Unfortunately, if we are being totally honest, we know that Houston will not change this system. He has so far shown himself to be very stubborn with his selection, the persistant starting of SR being a prime example. So I guess the question to all on here is that where will we end up this season playing this system and deploying the same players? In my view we will be a very poor bottom six club, that is the form which we are showing at the moment. I can't see Houston changing and therefore I can't see the results greatly altering, certainly not enough to take us where we want to be.
Last season, Goodie got him out of many games with more points than we deserved. We nicked a lot of late goals last season. Goodie was able to play that role, we now have nobody who is capable of it. please, please please go back to 4-4-2, I am almost at the begging stage now.

Gareth, do you really have to shout the whole time? And i haven't heard any replacement ideas coming in yet, wouldn't you say the man at least deserves a chance to get us to the top six before chrismas say? Or are we supposed to sack the man without a back up plan?
