Watching both players walking around from the 20th minute of football matches is sickening and it made me wonder why International managers are afraid to go with youth and energy in international tournaments. I get that experience is important at times but looking at this specific tournament, and the conditions the more athletic teams have been more impressive. The farce that is belgium is all the evidence you need to see that experience might not serve you well in this tournament.
Portugal and Argentina have lots of talent on their respective benches, the managers simply have to trust them more. I don't care if Ronaldo scores another 8 goals in this tournament, when you watch Mbappe you can see he is 100 times the player Ronaldo is at the moment.
Luis Enrique is one of the few managers who was bold enough to go with youth even if it meant he drops Thiago from the squad altogether. maybe experience will win as I expect both Argentina and portugal to go far in this competition but I think both teams would be better if the 2 legends were sat on the bench.
Ronaldo and Messi

Messi was brilliant yesterday, albeit Poland weren’t great. I don’t think Argentina have the quality across the pitch to go the distance though.

Agreed, there's a few average players in that side and their bench isn't a patch on some of the other big nations.

Messi hasn't ran in years but he still offers something the other players don't.
I don't think Argentina have that good of a squad either and I reckon there is 5-6 better sides left in this WC.
Portugal would be better off without Ronaldo starting these days. They have a vast amount of youngish talent in that squad but the manager doesn't have the guts to bench him.

Argentina were excellent last night, if that had been England people would be creaming themselves. They looked very good. Poland didn’t make it that hard mind.

Ronaldo seems more desperate than ever now in h8s unwavering belief that's his destiny to win The World Cup for Portugal on his own, all by himself. His trammates are nothing to him, mere unworthy helpers that let him get the glory. He's having an ok tournanent despite the overwhelming cringe that pours out of him.
They can't rely on Felix whose the most overrated player I think I've ever seen. He can't do anything, a staggering lack of composure and decision making and he couldn't finish a bowl of Frosties.
They gotta play Ronaldo upfront really. He's just toxic yhough.

Felix is quality though inconsistent. I’d suggest looking closer to home if you want most overrated…

No, he undeniably does walk around for most of the game. It's not a new thing and even his managers have talked about this. It's just that when he does get the ball, 9 times out of 10 he does something really good with it.
It seems the OP has confused this with him being ineffective though.
