Great to see.
Seamless transition to adult football, as I expected the step-up would be for him. Bloody ACL injury curtailed his smashing debut start to senior football life.
Buy-back clause of 40 odd mill is the silver-lining, taken a while for the club to properly utilise what can be a useful tool. Will come in handy.
Much like in the case of Tammy', previous ownership learnt from the past mistakes and cleverly inserted a buyback...about time!
Shouldn't have had to sell Tino, not ideal but tide turned.
Knock-on effect of Frank leaving was a mass academy exodus, they no longer saw viable pathway (and some like Guehi had designs of being in the England squad in the medium to long-term).
Stark contrast from when Frank took over and a plethora of academy products committed to Chelsea long-term.
Tuchel had Livramento right there and let him slip through our grasps, only to prioritise ageing overused Azpi that has ran his course at the club. NO Vision, NO Foresight, NO Succession Plan & Talent ID
Really makes one forever grateful and appreciative for the work foundation Frank did in changing the culture and breaking through the pathway barriers to fully integrate and develop the likes of Mount, Reece, Tammy, Tomori (and to a certain extent Gilmour).
Potter will resume that philosophy, no doubt.
Good signs with Hall (and potentially Hutchinson) already permenantly promoted to senior football within a couple of months, which the predecessor failed to do.
We're going to be a big pull for plenty of elite young players with current management in charge.
Livramento' Long Awaited Return

I could understand there reservations about using them, if we didn't produce the best academy products & structure...
Developing youth and achieving short / long-term 🏆goal isnt mutually exclusive.
In their mind it is, shame on all of them.

The number of players we have allowed to escape or sold too early is quite staggerring, especially when you look at how weak our squad is in certain areas and that we have spent a lot of money very unwisely. The likes of Tomori, Guehi, Lamptey and Livramento would have given us a lot more defensive depth and are at least decent squad players. We have Colwill and Maatsen out on loan when they could be part of our squad.

Theoretical is those players did not want to be just squad players. That isxwhy they left.
Well apart from Tomori who left because of Lampard

I don’t get how so many miss this point. Players have a big influence over their own careers. If they wanted to be squad players at Chelsea, chances are a lot of them would have been.

So... you didn't like Tuchel then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't like managers that fail to see glaring solutions that is presented within, would rather spend big on middling players that ultimately amount to nothing. Wouldn't be in this mess now if it wasn't for these type of managers...
Mourinho, Conte, Tuchel, SARRI
You should know the score by now⚽️

So just to repeat so it's loud & clear.

Exactly, they have the choice. Take Mount for example, his Father told him to leave Chelsea but he made the choice to stay and fight.
It's down to the players at the end of the day. Apart from Tomori, none of our academy players that have left have set the world on fire. Having said that, the club did feck up with its management of defenders.

Tbf CMF's argument to this would be giving them contracts they haven't earnt or remotely reflects their values?????

Yep.
The ironic thing with the aforementioned managers (and damfool fans) that fail to appreciate the value and look at the bigger picture of using & developing young players over expensive experienced middling buys is...that said expensive buys will invariably need a lot of time to adjust as well, more so than the players that have spent their whole childhood at the club with stronger mentalities invested in the club.
Managers will bend over backwards to defend their buys, even when these experienced players make glaring (endless) mistakes, patently need dropping and are a detriment to the team...
Bakayoko prime example that immediately springs to mind.
Mistakes & time which will never be tolerated or afforded to academy...
Never a level playing field.
Experience is everything with these type of managers, even when there is irrefutable evidence to support youth can be relied on more. A warped mindset, which I don't stand for.

Almost like they view it as a burden to develop elite academy talent and this has cost us dearly.
Any manager that doesn't have inherent belief in youth and blocks their pathway will be

Except it hasn't really has it? Only in your mind. 1x CL, 2x PL and numerous cup finals between those managers you mentioned.
No-one can prove or disprove your approach would've been better, but all of those managers were successful in their own ways. That's a fact.
