Forget Dumfries.
Forget Frimpong.
Forget Hakimi.
Livramento will have the chose of whichever International team he wants to play for in future.
England, Italy, Portugal fighting over him shall ensue, going at it 🔨 and tongs.
I thought the buy back clause was £25m?

Doubt he’ll choose England given he wasn’t up for the fight of battling Reece James at Chelsea so ran away to Southampton.
Probably end up playing for Italy looking at the competition for games in Portugal as well.

The reliable sources cite closer to £40m.
Southampton wouldn't agree to buyback as low as £25m.

meh htas all just guess work.
He might do he might not.
Italy usually produce pretty decent defenders.
all we can do is judge the levels currently and he isnt close to being good enough for them at the moment
Based on potential he could. But the point was about competition anyway, he wouldn’t be getting near the England or Portugal teams any time soon with their right back options. Italy would be a team much easier to break into.

possibly but Italy traditionally produce FB's just as good if not better than the countries mentioned.
He hasnt even played 30 gmaes of professional football in his career. Far too early to making predicitons like that IMO.
Traditionally Italy have done a lot of things, but that’s not been the case in recent years. They are well behind England and Portugal with player development now.

Di Lorenzo is better than Dalot though (IMO).... there is still plenty of talent in Italy.
we can only really go on tradition if your tyring to predict things.
were talking about a player who has less than 30 games under his belt.
and Italy won the previous tournament to the current one going.
So the recent years part is a bit off
They have Cancelo who is also younger than Di Lorenzo. Italy still call up shiiiiit like Calabria and Di Sciglio. England have Trent and Reece James. If you are talented young player that has hopes of breaking into an international team any time soon then Italy are obviously the ones you’d look at over England and Portugal. Though he’s eligible for Scotland as well so could end up playing for them.
It’s not, though. Italy have had problems producing top players for years, regardless of them winning the Euros. The talent pool is lacking compared to their European neighbours, and it’s something everyone in Italy, including the manager, has commented on.

fair dos about Cancelo .....
Are we forgetting that Italy won the euros' ..... one bad qulaifiers doesnt just change the fact that they normally produce players of higher calibre of both England and Portugal.
Italy have been world cup winners in 2006, euro finalists 2012, euro winners 2020.
in recent years thats better than the other two nations mentioned

last year they were considered the best nation in europe?!
"Doubt he’ll choose England given he wasn’t up for the fight of battling Reece James at Chelsea so ran away to Southampton."
That whole rhetoric is a misplaced simplistic reductive narrative, peddled by (far from reality) simple-minds.
The short reality was Tuchel had no care about integrating or offering a platform for our academy player of the year to challenge Reece at the time (irresponsibly favoured Azpi) and Livramento is a phonenomenal talent...that should have been prioirtised, rewarded with assurances, pathway going forward and some PL minutes...tail-end of that season, at the very least.
Germany got to the world cup final in 2002 but still radically changed their youth development because they weren’t producing top talent. Italy have had two group stage exits and two failures to qualify for the world cup. The talent pool is just not as strong as other nations in Europe right now. This isn’t something I’m saying either, it’s coming from the top people in Italy as well. Mancini’s complained for years about the lack of talented youngsters playing in Serie A.
Livramento wanted first team football, he wasn’t getting that with Reece James. Can’t blame Tuchel for that.
He may develop into a top top talent good enough to play for all three.
A bit early to predict that IMO.
And I think its a bit premature to say he will be good enough to play for a team that normally produce players better than both england and Italy.

Those times Livramento was on the bench for Tuchel, just giving him minutes off the bench would have been helpful in the players mind.
It's the little things that often go along way to making young players believe and determine that there is a fair pathway for them to compete.
Doesn’t address their issues with the talent pool.
